Nice, clean hotel, efficient room service and very polite and efficient staff. Location is great, as you can walk to both the central train station and the historic center area without difficulty. Very good breakfast with a good variety of products. Adequate price and they deliver everything they promise. I recommend the Hotel Dusseldorf Mitte

Recommend 10/10 I came from another hotel in de neighborhood, because the pictures were different. I was already in a bad mood because I came all the way here. But This hotel it is exactly as the pictures and the service was great. Everyone could speak English. They were very welcoming and kind. I would recommend this hotel. I wanted a quite room, I even got an upgrade. I loved my stay here.

We visited Dusseldorf for the Christmas Market so our hotel wasn't overly important to us. That said, it's hard to forget when you've had a bad experience with a hotel. I'm used to being greeted by very friendly staff when I arrive at a hotel but unfortunately that wasn't the case here. There wasn't any other guests at reception when we arrived but yet the receptionist was too busy on the computer to properly greet us. It's a minor detail but goes a long way. The major issue we had was with the door to our room. When we arrived I noticed that the door was damaged but was closing. It was ideal but we were happy enough with it and didn't want to create a fuss by asking for a different room. To our shock after a day in the Markets we came back to our room to see a stranger working on the door to fix it. The hotel should have notified us that a stranger would be working on our door and have access to our room. This was totally unacceptable and we needed to wait in reception until it was fixed. When a guest is staying in a hotel it becomes their home away from home and this felt like an invasion of our privacy. Other than these issues the hotel was acceptable, but unfortunately due to these issues we would not return to stay here again.

I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. I booked a room online ahead of my stay. When my wife and I arrived, we were told they could not find my reservation. Even after providing the reservation number and last name, I was told they had no records of the reservation and that they likely didn’t have a room for us. After 20 minutes of waiting, the receptionist said she had found a room that we could stay in. Once we arrived at the room, I found that there wasn’t enough water pressure to shower. Informed the front desk before heading to dinner, and they assured me it would be fixed. After returning, the front desk verbally confirmed it had been fixed. Unfortunately, I checked again myself and found there was barely enough hot water to wash our hands. As it was after 2200, we decided to try and fix the problem the next morning. I reported this again the next day, and after they called me on the phone and instructed me to “turn the water on hot for 5 minutes” they agreed to give us a new room but not until that afternoon. They also said they would move our luggage for us and everything would be set for us upon return from exploring the Christmas markets. When we returned, we were once again disappointed to find our baggage had not been moved and keys were not ready. When we were finally given a new room, we were surprised to find our that it was very different from our first room—properly upgraded with a nice bathroom, working TV, and modern furniture as advertised in the photos online. As it turns out, the room we were given the first night (after they lost our reservation) was old and outdated. Due to their mismanagement with the reservation, they had given us a non-functioning room and planned to charge us the same amount. Frustrated, I brought up these concerns with the management at the front desk and they brushed it off as a non-issue. I’ve traveled across the world staying in both hostels and hotels and have yet to be as disappointed as I am from this stay in Hotel Dusseldorf Mitte.
