I love the atmosphere here (like most reviewers)—like living inside a Hercules Poirot plot line. Sort of Art Nouveau shabby chic…but when you’re lying in your porcelain bath tub looking up at 12 ft ceilings, it’s a little slice of bliss. Only thing that takes it down a notch were the plastic/rubber mattress protectors under the sheets: I was hot all night. Get rid of those, Astória, and I’ll be back.

We signed up for this hotel expecting the romantic suite, so one queen bed and river view. When we got there, they said it was by availability, which meant we got slightly downgraded to two twin beds pushed together and a view of the city. The view was still lovely, but the beds were disappointing, especially for the price we paid. That pretty much sums up our experience, where there were a few pluses but mostly disappointments. Like the wood panels and flooring are great and classy, but the furniture is dated and felt better suited for a grandma's house rather than a hotel. The breakfast was delicious, but didn't make up for the awkward sleeping arrangement. All in all a cute place with helpful staff, but not worth the money spent. (PS the photos in their ads make the place look like an upscale hotel, but it's not. It's more of a cutesy place just so you know)

Art deco hotel with a nice decoration but needs a lot of renovation. Carpeting is from the 1950's Furniture, painting, plumbing need to be updated. Very bad noise isolation you can hear the elevator all night. Wifi not working on several floors, tv signal is quite weak too.
