Great rooms, great hotel, nice staff. BUT what really got on my nerves: I was told that visitors are allowed which is SPECIFICALLY the reason why I booked this much more expensive hotel than others. And now they tell me that visitors after 11pm have to pay 72‘000 pesos (18$). But nowhere was this rule written or informed! Hate it.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say the room was quite comfortable with nice furniture and a cozy bed. However, my experience with the reception left much to be desired. Despite being born in the country, I've been living abroad, and all the bookings were made by my international company. The reception was unwilling to consider my situation and insisted on charging me the local tax, even though I was more than willing to cooperate. Their unhelpfulness and eagerness to charge me extra left a sour taste in an otherwise pleasant stay.

Special thanks to Indira at breakfast, she carries herself in such a brilliant way, she just light up our day, very sweet and professional above all, remembering previous food choices and offering a smile. Update: No Sr. John Rojas, not all personnel, reception did not give us a great service, they were advice in advance about my check in and their attitude was less than desirable, they gave us a hard time, almost to the point of shaming us, in order to charge an extra 70 something thousand pesos, this review is a 5 for the rooms and Indira ONLY, and a 4 for the rest due to the noted reasons. Please read or abstain from replying with a generic answer.

The Estelar is conveniently located, close to a big street and a 24h supermarket, but very calm. My suite was impeccably clean and in shape, however designed in a 1990 way. It was huge, but not really cozy. The breakfast deserves praise due to its variety and quality. The staff was generally nice and helpful, but do not expect much English. So, a good experience with the exception of the Minibar tab. Not only did they try to bill me something I had not had, the pricing was excessive (and not shown in the room). Sadly, that ruined it a bit. Thus, if you refrain of using the Minibar, this is still a decent choice.
