I have been staying at this hotel over the last 30 years. Doesn’t that say everything! The moment you cross the threshold you become part of the Fontana family. If you want a good Venice experience then the Fontana is a very good start. Excellent also for its central location and closeness to the water bus stops. I would not stay anywhere else and can only highly recommend this gem of a hotel.

The hotel is very nicely located. We felt we were centrally located to walk to all the areas of Venice. The front counter staff were super friendly and always helpful with our questions. The hotel and rooms were very clean and very well maintained. As mentioned, the breakfast, for Europe, was a bit thin, but adequate. I think considering everything in Venice is hand dollied in I wouldn’t expect much more. Very nice hotel and very nice place to stay. I would definitely stay here again.

The nicest family hotel! Diego and Gabriele were the most hospitable, friendly owners and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The location is great, the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious, and breakfast very good (definitely sit on the terrace if the weather is nice)! We will be visiting again!

The location is superb. Near the water bus station and is near to many tourist attractions. But, the room is rather uncomfortable. The number 1 problem is the bed. I personally think they need to be changed to a new one. The beds are already spoiled. It has a human shape emboss showing that it has been used so long. It's hard to fell asleep even though i was so exhaused bcs all the walking. Just hoping they consider it since it'll boost their hotel significantly i think.
