Where to begin? First of all… certainly not a 4 star hotel. We had a terrible experience at this hotel. We typically stay at 4-5 star hotels and can undoubtably state that this hotel meets the equivalent of a 2-3 star. The service is unfriendly, the staff appear bothered when providing guests with help, when mentioning the noise and drain issues in our room the staff seem unsurprised and annoyed that we requested a new room. The room options are VERY limited. No coffee maker, no water, no functioning mini fridge, clogged shower and sink drains, no iron and very loud. The linens are scratchy and you are only provided with a flat sheet and a light grey linen covering over the bed, nothing overly comfortable. The windows are not soundproof and the hotel is located across the street from a school. If you have a room facing inside the courtyard the hotel noise travels throughout hallways and you can enjoy the view of other guests in their rooms. The hotel room decor feels like a university dorm room meets ikea warehouse. Skip this hotel, spend a little extra and stay closer to the city centre as the walk to the historic centre is approx 20 mins.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We stayed here in Sep 2023 and were extremely disappointed with the hotel. I’ll start the review by saying if you are booking this as a 4 star hotel, I highly recommend booking elsewhere or considering a well rated 3 star. Also, if they put you in a room facing the school/church make sure you ask for a different room as you will not be able to sleep here during the school year due to the noise. Rooms: 2/5 This was probably the biggest issue. Our first night, we had a bed that was creaky and lost a whole night sleep because of this. The whole room seems to be made of cheap furniture and there is limited amenities for a 4 star. The shower heads leak everywhere and the shower has one part of the floor that is flat and is not sloping towards the drain so there is always still cold water in the shower floor. This poses a problem since the soap is hung where this water sits (also broken) and you are walking through cold water puddle to get soap while your showering. There is no iron/steamer and you can only borrow this from reception for 1 hour! There is also very minimal space to put anything. Noise: 0/5 A BIG PROBLEM. The doors, walls, hallways and windows are not soundproofed at all. We had a room facing the school and you could hear the bell go off every morning and the loud noises of the cars and kids waking you up at 6am. You can hear every bit of noise from even whispers in the rooms beside and definitely doors closing 3 doors down the hall at least. We got this changed and it was slightly improved but still very loud. Service: 2/5. They luckily changed our room to a second one after begging them to do this. There was no apology involved and it was as if this was the norm for them. They were not one bit surprised by this issue which makes me believe it happens often. The only really good worker seems to be the maintenance guy who was able to help address some of the issues. There was extreme hesitation to switch us to a different room, but what I realized was the room we previously had was in significantly worse shape than the room they provided. Be sure to ask for a room not facing the school as I feel that they default to these being the first ones to book. Pool: Do not book this hotel for the pool. As mentioned multiple times in the reviews, it does not seem to ever be cleaned. It is slimy water and quite small for the size of hotel. Location: If you’re okay with walking this is about 15-20 minutes from the main attractions. I would spend the extra to stay at a 3 star that is closer if I had the option. Impression: From a Canadian traveller perspective who has lots of experience staying in various hotels I highly recommend avoiding this. You will be extremely disappointed.
