Very near city center. Has a parking spot. Disliked · The parking is extremely bad. It is full of construction poles, you have to be careful not to damage your car. The parking spaces are very small and it is hard to get in, especially with anything bigger than a VW Golf. The parking is outside. There are two shower heads - the one mounted on the ceiling is broken and is splashing water everywhere just not at you underneath. I booked the apartment and there was a couch and a TV set. The TV is so near to the couch that you would get problems with your neck for looking up, as well as with your eyes as it is so near. Luckily, the couch is broken so it is leaning forward so you fall of it anyway as the slippery leather does not provide a lot of friction. But it saves you from the other risks discibed before. The breakfast was not a highlight - there were 2 kinds of cheap bread, the cheese and cold cuts were dry already. The minibar was poorly filled. The coffee in the room was not even labeled coffee but "kaffeetrunk", not inspiring confidence in the quality of the beverage.

Got the room overlooking the main street (Ilica street). That was a mistake. I specifically asked the front desk if the room would be quiet since the tram traffic is quite intense there. The answer: "Do not worry about it, you won´t hear it". Wrong! The trams were very loud. It gets somewhat better at night but they operate all night long, with less frequency though. Breakfast was terrible (I do not recall having more pitiful breakfast anywhere in the hotel world). The woman who brings out stuff to the buffet table was touching bread with her bare hands and when warned that the bagels were old and hard (probably few days old already) she took them from our table (we already touched the bagels since they were on our plates) and just put them back into the bread basket. We could not believe it! So much for the 4 stars hotel! The card key did not work, had to get a new one and it took the front desk clerk 4 (four) tries to make it work (I had to go up and down from our floor to the front desk 2 times with malfunctioning key card feeling like total idiot and then she could not do it for the next 2 times only to find out, eventually, that she had been coding cards for the wrong room!?!? What?) They sent the bottle of sparkling wine as an appology. That was nice but could not erase amateurism of the hotel staff.

We were 3 adults and shared a superior room. The double bed was comfortable but the 3rd bed was a sofa bed. It was very uncomfortable. When we complained at the reception Pamela was not helpful at all. Her approach was very unfriendly. The other reception Luca was very kind and he hand us over some toppers. Still wasn't comfortable but he tried his best.

We had the most terrible experience that we've ever had in a hotel. Therefore, I strongly advise you to reconsider staying at this hotel. We arrived in Zagreb feeling happy and enthusiastic. However, finding the entrance to the car park was not easy; we had to circle around a second time to locate it. The hotel's entrance felt like a back door, and the windows appeared to be somewhat dirty. Upon our arrival, we discovered that our reservation was made for two adults and one child. However, we are a family with two small kids and were travelling with a second child. This is where the situation started to become ridiculous, as one of the receptionists refused to provide us with the room key, citing that the room's capacity would be exceeded if we included the second child. We explained that the kids usually sleep in our room, and accommodating the second child would not be an issue. We were even willing to pay an additional fee for the second child, if required. Instead, the receptionists conversed in their local language (which we understood) and decided to offer us a second room. They informed us that we would not be allowed to use our room unless we paid for a second one. These discussions lasted for over two hours. Our children were crying, and our vacation mood and plans were completely ruined. The hotel staff displayed no empathy whatsoever; on the contrary, they behaved like sadistic bureaucrats. In the end, it became evident that we would not be using the hotel's services. We simply wanted our reservation to be canceled without any penalties. However, they lied to us, claiming that we needed to cancel it ourselves. When we insisted that they cancel it, suddenly they were able to do so. We have no intention of visiting Zagreb again, and I strongly recommend looking for another hotel. You could still consider using the parking facilities of Hotel Park 45.
