Everything was perfect when youbare staying for just 1 or 2 nights . The services were also nice, and you also have a mini bat directly at the reception.

At the time of my arrival, the street was full of drunk people who where not shy about commenting/cat-calling when I walked by with my big suitcase. I am quite street smart and not easily intimidated but I was glad to be buzzed in to the hotel entrance, which seemed like a “hole in the wall” location. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly, courteous and polite - probably my favorite part of the whole stay. The room itself (I booked a single room which features a twin bed, a closet and a small private bathroom) was very basic with plain wooden furniture, small but clean, almost hostel-style but perfectly suitable when all you need is just a place to sleep. Probably would not take my family here for a vacation, but for a quick work trip it is ok!

It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel! The prices were affordable and the breakfast was tasty, with a wide variety of food items to choose from. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is located in a very busy but well communicated area - one can reach almost any part of Hamburg using the S-bahn or U-bahn lines. The area is also a multicultural place with many interesting shops and markets around.

As per other reviews, the service from the staff at reception and around the hotel was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and smiling, saying hello and eager to help. This level of service helped to lift what was a low standard accommodation, but given the price was worth it for me for a couple of nights. Room 56 was quiet, overlooking an inner courtyard so no street noise or traffic noise. There was no air-con but a fan was provided. It was good to have a sink in the room and the shared toilet and shower room were just across the hall. I found it to be clean enough, however the worst thing for me was the smells. The room smelled of smoke (maybe cigarette smoke combined with machine fumes?). Eventually I got used to it a little bit, but it was unpleasant. The toilet also smelled badly of urine, so some air freshener is needed there. The location is great, a short walk from the train station. It didn’t feel the safest street to be in, but the hotel itself has a locked outer door so I felt safe on the inside and made sure I didn’t stay out too late. Overall, good for the price and location, ok for just a stopover. Thank you to the lovely people working there!
