The hotel is not central but within walking distance to the old town and 10/15 minutes away from the airport by taxi (~50CHF). The room was spacious and with a modern vibe. The pillows were too soft for my personal liking but the bed was big and comfortable. You can also control the temperature in the room which is great. Minibar was free, which was a great plus. There was no issues with noise inside or outside. Breakfast was good with decent variety. The gym was very disappointing though. Machines were old and seemed to be low quality. Treadmill was not working, elliptical wasn't good, and rowing made a lot of noise. It looks good in the picture but in reality I really disliked it and it seems to be an area that the hotel ignored. They still use individual plastic toiletries which I find quite disappointing. Although refillable containers are available, they also have a lot of small toiletries.

Booked here as part of a larger trip. Had high expectations due to reviews and was told it was a superior hotel. Arrived and was super underwhelmed and disappointed. Rooms took forever to get ready and was told it was taking longer as we had gotten a superior room, but it turned out we got the same room as most of the others in our tour group. Room was basic at best, air-conditioning stank of mould, windows were so dirty you could hardly see out of them, duvet was dirty and found hair everywhere. Was told our mini bar would be restocked daily as part of our package, but that never happened; it just felt as if the hotel skimped on a lot of things to save money. Only some elevator buttons worked as well, so struggled to get anywhere as there are no buttons in the elevators themselves. Food was overpriced and average - both downstairs at the bar and at the restaurant. Service at the restaurant was very poor - waited over two hours for two mains just to be rather underwhelmed with a very bland meal and stale bread at an insane price. Location is useful as it's right by a tram stop, but that's about all that's going for it. There is a rooftop bar whose music we could hear 13 floors down till early hours, which also didn't help. Wouldn't recommend it, to be honest.

The Hyperion welcomed our group after our very long flight from the US. We were doing a Viking pre-extension in Basel. The reception staff was courteous and very efficient despite the chaos! We had a drink at the bar while we waited for our room to be ready. It was no more than 30 minutes. Our room was pristine. The bed is lovely and I have fallen in love with the dual duvets! We had free tram service which stopped at our door. The hotel location is perfect. The breakfast buffet is phenomenal! We highly recommend and would definitely return!

The look and feel is nice. When you enter there is a nice bar in the hall where Josip makes the best cocktails with a smile and where you can order some food, the rooms are clean and comfortable, comfortable beds. There are several trams just around the corner to explore the city and you travel for free because you stay at the hotel. It is a nice contrast with the customer service the hotel provides at the check-in desk. The exceptions are Miss Stallone and miss Ponferra. They succeed in following the policy but in a customer service way. They are very helpfull and kind. Maybe they could add a chapter to the policy document that explains how you could strictly follow policy and still make hotel guests feel welcome?
