I did not find this hotel to be a 4 star property. We booked on their website which made the hotel look like an urban oasis. The problem is that there are rooftop bars and it's very noisy at night and in the morning with the trash trucks. The hotel offers earplugs in the room, but does little to dull the noise at night. The view from the balcony is of the back of a building and there is construction and drilling that starts around 7:30. The room was very clean and there was a nice free minibar. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the pillows useless. We requested additional pillows, but never received them. We drove into Basel so the adjacent parking garage was very convenient. It also is a great centrally located property. For the price we paid and for the positioning of the hotel on their website, I think we just had very different expectations of comfort, quiet and luxury.

Located right in the walking district of Basel this is an awesome destination if you are looking for a good time. The rooms are spaceous, well equipped and surprisingly quiet for being right in the center. The rooftop bar offers fabulous cocktails and a great view.

We were lucky to get an upgrade. We had a large balcony but it wasn't private because of the building and construction across the street. Breakfast was nice and simple. Location was great--close to sights, shopping and restaurants as well as Barfüsserplatz tram stop. 4.5 stars

I stayed at the Art House Hotel with my boyfriend for one night and everything was perfect! I bought a voucher on QoQa and the experience was smooth and pleasant. The hotel is in a very central position, close to the city center and public transportation. The rooms are very nice (even if the bathroom is in a real Japanese style, with the walls made of wood and paper), the breakfast is one of the best I had recently and the Merhaba restaurant downstairs was fantastic. I will definitely come back next time I will be in Basel!

Stayed here from Saturday to Sunday in room 228. It's a nice hotel but not for me I wouldn't stay here again. WHAT I LIKED: - I like the interior design of the room and the hotel. - I love that the toilet has an integrated bidet. Toilet paper is for animals 😅 - The location is amazing you are basically in the middle of Basel. WHAT I DISLIKED: - The noise at night coming from the outside. The location brings some disadvantages which is noise from the party folks. This made it difficult to fall asleep and the provided ear plugs were no good in regards to comfort and noise blocking. - As a side sleeper the bed and pillow were not comfortable and my back was hurting when I woke up. On another note (not affecting my rating): Stayed here with a combo from QoQa. To be honest I'm not sure where the value of the combo lies. Basically paid the normal price but was "forced" to eat in a certain restaurant with a 100 CHF voucher. No special menu or anything else special. Of course it didn't help that the couple who checked in before me got upgraded. Gave me the feeling of why didn't i get one too. For anyone reading this when there's the next QoQa deal. Don't buy it at QoQa if there's nothing special. Just book it with the hotel directly if you want to stay here.
