It's more a value hotel than 3 star. Rooms are very small. It's difficult to manage with two people each having a suitcase. This is most ideal for a single traveler with little luggage for an overnight stay. Close proximity to train station is ideal.

Perfect place for a short stay. We enjoyed our 2 nights at Ibis Hamburg. For sure there was an ongoing construction next to the hotel but when the window is closed you just hear nothing but you breathing ☺️ The breakfast is very good and we loved the waffle maker, this is such a good idea.

The room on the street side has some noises. Even if the rm was small, it was comfrtable enough for me. The breakfast room is way too small. Too crowded. Not well dimensioned in relation with the number of hosts. This is a planning mistake. I believe this comes from the necessity of a higher profit.

Honestly just not a great experience overall. Staff and check in was very easy and friendly but the rooms are really, really basic. The room has no real closet, just a structure to hang your clothes and some planks which makes te room feel messy. There is no real place to put/unpack your suitcase. The built in desk has a foldable chair hidden away in the corner, not ideal if you want to do some work while travelling. The nightstands have no drawers, so even putting my car keys out of sight is something that I didn’t really feel comfortable with. The faucet in the bathroom only has cold water… like really!? If I wanted to go back to the basics I would buy a tent and get a camping spot. There is some 3 in 1 shampoo, shower gel and hand wash in the bathroom but honestly that stuff probably costs like 0.10 cents for hotels to buy. All these cost saving measures felt like a really low budget hotel to stay in. I wasn’t expecting a 5 star hotel but I think they mixed up the Ibis “budget” hotel with the regular hotel that is located next to eachother. Pretty sure I booked the regular one but experience says otherwise. We found a hair on the toilet seat when we walked in. There is no AC in the rooms and when opening the window you can hear the pleasant sounds of the busy streets that the hotel faces. When other guest leave their hotel room and close their door you can feels the whole floor shake like you are ik the epicentre of an earthquake. Not sure where they got their 3 star rating from but it felt like a trip back to the Stone Age. Beds are oke Breakfast is crowded. Food is oke. Positive note: Hotel is located a 5 min walk from the trainstation where I saw more crackheads than at the rehabilitation centre. Parking 16€ a day.
