Kaya Yachting

We just returned from our 7 days sailing in Turkey. I must say that we were VERY disappointed in the trip. Some of the reasons are listed below. 1. The directions to the ship were not very clear and it was only by accident did we find that Kaya Yachting was the provider and it was the office where we should check-in. 2. Upon boarding the ship we were not greeted, safety instructions were not provided, and the crew spoke almost no English. There never was any description of what the plans were for the day. We did not know when or if we should swim or for how long or what the options were for going ashore. We felt that the crew barely tolerated us being aboard and never felt welcome. 3. The information we received from Globe Sailor stated that smoking was not permitted unless approved by the captain and only on the stern of the ship. Well, being Turks, the 4 crew members and one passenger constantly smoked in all sections of the ship. This made for a very unpleasant experience. 4. The ship did NOT have air conditioning as was advertised. There was only one board game. There were no water toys and we were not made aware that fins and goggles were for our use. 5. The meals provided were very basic. Breakfast was the same every day with exception being that the egg selection provided varied. The bread provided at all meals was basically "air". Lunch was vegetarian only. The evening meal was better but certainly not the quality we expected. 6. Prior to departing the States we were told that there were 4 other couples from the UK. There were no couples from the UK. One couple were French and three other people were German. They all spoke little or no English. We found out that another adjacent ship had 4 English couples and feel that Kaya Yachting put us on the ship we were on to make a higher number of passengers. 7. Although the ship was spacious, it was not well kept up and certainly showed its age. We had other complaints, but this should give you a good idea of the poor quality of the cruise.

We went on a tour booked via globe sailor. Although the boat was luxurious and fantastic, the communication was poor throughout the entire period. The crew spoke no English and the itinerary was not followed. It’s a shame because they have a potential
