Kelebek Special Cave Hotel & Spa

Great location, gorgeous rooms, and great staff makes for a wonderful stay at Kelebek. I arrived quite late as my connecting flight was delayed, and then my luggage ended up on another belt at the airport! But despite my late arrival I was warmly welcomed, and given some information about the hotel and excursions they provide. I was then shown to my room, and I was blown away by how unique and cosy it was. The room was compact, but more than big enough for me. There was a kettle with tea and coffee available, as well as some fruit and nuts to snack on. They also provide you with 2 small bottles of water per day, as well as complimentary toiletries. Unless the weather is boiling I always feel cold of a night, and they kindly provided me with a couple of extra blankets, so I was snug as a bug in a cave! The bathroom is nearly the same size as the bedroom - very spacious, and the shower is really good. The water does get a little cooler late at night, but it’s still warm enough for a quick shower. My first morning there I woke up super early to watch the balloons. Kelebek is in an excellent location to watch this magical event, as the hotel is situated slightly higher up. My first breakfast there was somewhat chaotic, as it was super busy and the staff were run ragged! At 9am they’d ran out of butter, so after that I decided to have breakfast as early as possible each morning. But I have to say the following mornings weren’t as busy. Also, I do think it would be really helpful to label the food that is laid out: on several occasions I saw other guests dipping their fingers into things to try them first - needless to say I avoided those dishes! As I said before location is superb. There’s a couple of routes you can take to get down into the centre of Göreme - with the quickest taking you only about 4 minutes. Walking back up isn’t difficult, but if you have mobility issues you might struggle. Göreme Open Air Museum is around a 20 minute walk away, and if hiking is your thing, you can walk to Love Valley in an hour or so. Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Kelebek and definitely stay here again.

Just had a few days stay with this hotel. Staffs were lacking of training and there was no hot water coming from bath tub! Certain food of the breakfast was running out at 8:30 AM even! (Two days in a row even) What time am I supposed to be there? 6AM? Everytime when we ordered something, we needed to remind them several times or they would just forget…….. Furthermore, receptionist misread my nationality and kept saying I am from the wrong country even though I have corrected few times. We have emailed hotel about our complaints but just got meaningless can messages 😏😏Saying they are inviting us for another stay but not even giving any kind of promo code.
