Where can I start? This is located far far away from everything. The few restaurant "around" are closed for dinner. Even the convinience store close at 18h00. In the description you will see they give you free bottle water, it's a lie. They also say coffee, but it's not true. Only thing that they offer is tea. The room I had was really outdated and had nothing to do with the one I saw on the advertised picture. I didn't try the onsen, so I can't comment about it. On the bright side, it's really really quiet. If you are a nature lover, imagine going on camping but you sleep in a small room. By the way you have to make(set up) your own bed: put the matresses on the floor(tatami) then put the sheets and finaly the futon and the pillow. All in all, won't go back.

Beautiful room, clean. Some spots maybe a bit worn out, but definitely clean. Toilets very clean. Revitalizing stay after a tough two weeks of sightseeing Japan. The onsens were great and private. The 2 outside onsens significantly better (so good) than the 2 inside. Best during the night (as the name of this ryokan implies). New teacups and bags and towels every day. Loved the free yukata. They have a broad selection of women yukata. The owner was very kind and happy to help with everything. There was during my stay always one onsen available. But do expect most onsen to be in use during regular bath times. Only in use for a maximum of one hour before being available again. I think it's a pity that this Ryokan has a couple bad reviews from a long time ago. But from my experience those were outdated and not of today.

Bare bones youth hostel that cost us £105 for the night. It was very dirty and scummy, with shared toilets and bathrooms - I had to go all the way down some really dirty carpets to the men's toilet at night, which was even dirtier. Didn't think I'd ever say this about Japan but this place was probably cleaned over a week ago. You also have to set out your own futons on the floor, and the walls were so thin that we could hear our neighbours whispering to each other. Access to the hot spring depends on your luck - there was a queue to use them - there are only two and if you're not quick, you won't be able to access them. The carpark is quite far away and down a hill. I would avoid this place at all costs. The photos on tripadvisor are from ages ago. It's become a dilapidated place and the staff (unlike the rest of Japan, where they take great pride in doing everything) here is just a middle-aged man who mainly just cared about getting away by 7pm.
