Booked a twin room with balcony, but never got one. The air conditioner dripped after 10 minutes, and the rooms facing the front are noisy. The night staff weren't always available to answer the door. Breakfast was pore. Location was great, but worth paying more for somewhere nicer.

The hotel is good, logistics opportunities are +/- 20 minutes from the metro, bus routes are nearby, on foot you can easily walk to the heart of Istanbul - Hagia Sophia, as well as the Basilica Cistern and other equally important sights. There are a lot of shops around, a SIM card can be purchased just around the corner, currency exchange is a street below. The only thing about the hotel itself is the absence of porridge for breakfast, but in general you can eat before lunch, the rooms are already somewhat old, but everything looks pretty cheerful, cleaning and changing towels every day.

Worst hotel I’ve ever been to! Dusty lamps, dirty shower, broken items. I was scared to even touch the hairdryer that was in our room. At first we were placing a sign outside the door saying that room needs cleaning, all they did was towel and garbage bag change. So we quit asking. Shower was broken. Ceiling panel - also broken. Lamp - broken. Socket - broken. Mirror - broken. Sink - leaking. The rest of the rooms are similar according to the staff. There was my hair on a bathroom wall - they never removed it... other guests were also complaining and it was easy to hear even from your room, as we could hear people talking and yawning in the rooms next to ours. I am happy we did not pay for breakfast as I can only imagine how dirty their kitchen was. Never ever you should rely on the positive reviews of this “hotel”.

Very bad experience. We arrived at 10pm on the 30th of May, and the receptionist called Suleyman tried to sell us cruises for 30€ (the real price for a cruise on the Bosphorus is 4€). We had a room on the first floor, tiny, dirty and VERY NOISY. You can hear the prayers at 10pm and 5am, it's impossible to sleep. So we cancelled our booking on internet, except for the first night. Suleyman knocked at our room, was very angry and told us to pay for the first night. But we already paid on booking.com and he wanted us to pay again. He finally shouted at us that we are not from Turkey and didnt understand the rules, and if we didnt want to pay, we had to leave the hotel (it was 1 am). We had an argument and had to yell at each other, it was unbelievable. 15 minutes later he said that there was no need to pay again for the first night. He had no respect for us and never apologized for his attitude. The breakfast was disgusting. We changed for another hotel called Okda hotel, the staff was so respectful and the rooms so clean and silent. I dont recommend you to stay at May hotel.
