We arrived late around 22:00, made a reservation for 5 days. We woke up to realise there was 1 extra nights stay as we would only stay in Izmir 4 nights. The receptionist and manager would not refund this extra day which we found extremely disappointing given it was less than 12 hours since we made the reservation. They showed us their booking log and we realised we are the only people staying in the hotel and they must be desperate for money. The rooms are noisy from the street all night. There is no kettle, hair dryer, cups or cutlery. The location is rough, there is a swastika painted outside the hotel which we found offensive given out Jewish heritage. The hotel video and sound records all conversations in the reception area. We found this to be quite creepy and an invasion of privacy given there was no prior warning given. In most country’s this would be illegal.

I stayed at the MB City Hotel in İzmir for 1 week and thought it was great. I read a lot of the other reviews and don't understand some as it was not my experience. I think things have very much improved from earlier reviews. My room was always clean,the location was great, I did not feel afraid walking there at night. As said in a previous review Sinan and Ezgi were great. Although not coffee and tea in the room, you can always get downstairs and bring up. The breakfasts were good, you can also get at local places. My only suggestion is if the management could maybe make a microwave available? One night I had leftover food and it would have been nice to be able to warm it a little. Other than that, I would definitely stay there again when I am in İzmir.

Had a great stay with them. The staff was very warm and welcoming, the rooms were clean and spacious, the bathrooms were cleaned very well and the view was also very nice. The staff speaks very good English and helped visit the best places in Izmir. 10/10 would recommend to anyone travelling to Izmir and we’ll definitely be back again soon!

The location is great. Just 5 minutes from Kibris Sehitleri street which is the main one in the area. The people are really nice, helpful and respectful. You can stay with your girlfriend or family. However, in our room hair dryer was not working. Besides that sound isolation was week. If there is a noise on the street or on the corridor, you can hear them. In that sense it made me a little bit uncomfortable. However, if you want to use hotel just for sleeping and having shower and short time chilling and you main purpose is to travel the city, then it is the one of the best option on the area. Price/Performance is good I would say.
