The resort is very beautiful and the gardens are also very nicely laid out. We had a private pool villa, which offered plenty of space and was always very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is fine, but nothing special. It is also very nice that you have access to the beach from the hotel. However, what bothered me the most was that the hotel forgot my birthday. Although I had pointed this out when booking and it was also mentioned at check-in. Also my wife told the reception two times that it would be nice to have a small decoration on the breakfast table or in our villa, but this important day was simply ignored. It is disappointing that the hotel did not even show a small gesture or attention to honour this special occasion.

Overall great experience. It was quite windy while we were there, with some rain, so it limited us a bit in our activities as we planned a trip to the marine park, but that was cancelled. Not the hotels fault. The staff were friendly, food was good, so was the spa. We loved the room with private pool. Would recommend, we certainly will come back.

We had a great stay at Melati, a luxurious beachfront resort. Overall good value for money. Positives: - Friendly staff and great service. - Spacious and luxurious room, clean and we had a nice view on the garden from our balcony. - Two pools, one at the beach (more busy pool, also lots of children playing here) and a more quiet pool in the garden. - Great food, breakfast buffet was delicious and had a lot of options. Dinner was good as well. - Peaceful and quiet, nice gardens surround the rooms / bungalows. - The hotel offers shuttle service to Chaweng beach. - They put in a lot of effort to control pests (like mosquitoes), which is a big plus and needed due to surrounding nature. Negatives: - There is not a lot to do within walking distance. You need to use the shuttle service, book an excursion at the hotel or take a taxi (I can recommend the inDrive app, they are the cheapest option, better than Grab. Payment in cash though). - Maintenance can be improved. For instance: pool had some tiles missing, not all jacuzzi jets worked properly, bathroom door was difficult to close, old TV which could not connect with my laptop through HDMI, some broken lamps and similar (minor) details around the resort. I guess they had some difficulties during the corona shutdown, so partly understandable. - Not the nicest beach I have seen around Thailand (Koh Phangan has more beautiful beaches). Also there was some rubbish. However, it’s a public beach so not the resorts fault.

Yes, the beach here is perfect. The food is so good. I had the pool villa suite and it was amazing. The whole place is stunning. BUT the best thing about the Melati are the staff. If you are lucky enough to stay here, talk to the staff. They’re really lovely people. I met Banana (on reception) with Aris. Tony brought me room service when I arrived. Then in the restaurant and I met Anna (the trainee) who tried to teach me some Myanmar words. Thuley from Nepal…who was VERY funny! Kevin from the Philippines was a funny fella too! Then we had my menu guide Gift, Mam, Ji Ji ( I might have spelt that wrong, sorry), Sunny, Sun, Kwang, the very wise John from Myanmar, Ning, Phadthai and the super sweet Poupeé on reception. There were others who I met only once but the people above made me feel very welcome from day one. Thanks to everyone for making my stuff full of smiles and laughter.
