Nice rooms and very comfortable with great views. Good location away from the busy city center but only about three minutes to downtown. Breakfast is very good, a bit repetitive but very good nonetheless. Only gripe is that the parking situation is a bit of a joke. They need to invest in something to better accommodate those arriving by car. Check-in and check-out was simple and fast.

To be honest I read the reviews after booking and had low expectations. All my expectations were exceeded and we had a lovely stay. We stayed here with our family of 5, we stayed in the lake view inter connecting rooms. I would highly recommend upgrading to a lake view as I think it will change your whole stay/experience here. The walk down to the township is lovely but we never walked backed as the hill was way too steep and a maxi taxi with Queenstown taxis wasn’t too bad. Buffet breakfast had everything we needed but every morning we had to ask to everything to be topped up but it always was and done with a smile. All the staff were so positive and helpful, it seemed like the team had a great culture which was noticed throughout the week. We would most definitely stay here again, we loved it!

The hotel is well situated, walking in to the lobby, you are greeted with the most beautiful view of Lake Wakatipu, The Remarkables and the surrounding mountain peaks. We booked a lake view room on the top floor and the view was absolutely stunning, so beautiful and relaxing to wake up to every morning. We stayed for 3 nights and had the breakfast buffet included which was very generous with a great variety. The view from the breakfast dining room was also very beautiful. There was only 1 minor shortcoming which was that our room was right next to the elevator and there seemed to be a problem with it as it was very loud however, the staff were already aware of the problem and they closed that elevator form 9pm to 9am which was great as we were out for most of the day anyway, only having to bear it for a couple hours per day. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely stay here again (with the elevator hopefully fixed).

Hi we are an Australian couple and have been Mercure guests previously and always enjoyed our stays with the fabulous views. We now own a house at Fernhill and visit the Mercure often as our local bar and restaurant. Last time at Mercure (November, 2023), we had happy hour drinks followed by dinner with friends. We LOVED the 400 gm rib eye steaks. Also the desserts are delicious too. A shout out to your bar manager, Lucy. Very professional, personable and happy. Hospitality needs more people like Lucy. We would vote for her as NZ employee of the year. Looking forward to our next trip to Mercure. Garry and Deborah Brown
