My family of 4 visited this hotel during a very busy Christmas week and our stay was fantastic. The hotel is a great family hotel that is perfectly situated a mere 5-7 minutes walk from the waterfront. Staff really went out of their way to accommodate everyone. Dilshan who oversees the breakfast buffet deserves specific mention as he was always friendly and did his best to cater for everyone. Truly commendable service! The buffet caters for a variety of different tastes and the food was generally good. The only real "complaint" was the standard of the housekeeping service and this could be due to the staffing issues at the hotel. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

We stayed 5 nights and had a great time. The room we had was comfortable. It had a panoramic window which allowed us great views of the Remarkables mountain range. Even better than the rooms though was the fantastic service we had. Richard was absolutely outstanding. Him and his crew were some of the most friendly and helpful hotel staff we have ever met. I would go back to stay here just based upon the quality service.

Overall average, and a mixed experience here- Pros: Location Breakfast is good Room was quiet Cons: -Check in delayed up to 90 mins as room was not ready. A quick scan through the reviews here suggests this is commonplace. -parking is not guaranteed- if you don’t get a park you’re in trouble in Queenstown -Clearly short-staffed -Restaurant orders are delayed/forgotten-again not staff’s fault but significant lack of staffing. -King mountain view’s room had a very average view of houses and roadworks -House-keeping delayed until late afternoon most days -Fitness room consists of a few dumbbells, one bench and two treadmills- pretty basic for a large hotel

Very Disappointing No housekeeping, No towels replacement, No staff service Positives - Modern and recently built - Good location - Onsite paid covered parking was provided. It was full just after us. - Luggage storage facility was provided. - Breakfast was included in booking. - Outdoor area was small but nice. No swimming Pool. Negatives - No housekeeping in our 4 nights of stay - Towels not replaced daily. We were not the only ones as we saw some stealing towels from spa - Staff was hopeless. They ignore every request. - Long queues at reception. People lining up for complaints i suppose. Staff service was slow too. - Alley was full of rubbish with rubbish from any room not removed and put outside i think - Bathroom was little bit transparent. You could see contour of the person showering from outside. - Using lift was bit fiddly. Access cards won't work sometimes. - Breakfast was a mess. Coffee machine not working. Pan cake not working. Long queues.

Thos is a newly constructed stylish building overlooking Queenstown that offers a full complimentary breakfast service and bare bones rooms. The ambiance really is nice to look at, but the rooms are as basic as they come. That said you know what you are getting with a Holiday Inn. There were three downsides. 1. I think they were short staffed and didn't get my room cleaned for a few days. 2. The water has to be boiled or else you could get sick. This isn't their fault and they did offer free water in the lobby, it just wasn't optimal. 3. The location. You are on a hill overlooking downtown. Getting back can be a bit of a workout. I enjoyed the little extra walk, but I can think some might avoid this aspect, just be aware.
