Fabulous hotel, staff were first class and rooms excellent. Location is also very good due to near the subway. Lovely large relaxing area on second floor.

Service is what i would expect of Japanese hospitality - top-notch. They replenish my water every single day. This hotel is respectful to the hotel guest unlike the lower-end hotel chains in Japan such as APA or Keihan that cut costs on the pretext of conservation. This hotel is a gem in terms of customer service.

I've been to Japan more than thirty times and also lived here for a period, and can happily report that Nagoya Kanko Hotel is one of the best quality - and definitely best value - hotels of it's class and price point that I've stayed at. Rooms are a little old fashioned in design, but feel luxurious and are very well maintained. Just to give one example, while I'm not a fan of old fashioned showers-in-baths, here at least the tapwware is new and both water pressure and temperature are excellent.

Service wasn't bad and the room was fairly spacious with a queen bed. Overall good amenities in the bathroom and free bottled water. Also had a fridge with items to buy but enough room for our water bottles. Now the bad. It has been a LONG time since their last update. The TV was made in 2006 and had zero HDMI or any other inputs. The original design intent of colors etc would be fine but nearly everything in the room has suffered from sun bleaching. The inner curtains were a different color and length. The couches two cushions were different shades of the same color. Some of the original tasteful art had lost its coloring completely.
