A better modern but old hostel, well located, that’s all.
This 4 star „hotel“ is way too expensive for its services and I wouldn’t recommend to go there. We were staying for two nights, more expensive as an international 5 star hotel close by. The Weinmeister claims to not have house keeping for the first 2 nights for environmental reasons, but having 80 inch big TVs in the rooms, literally nobody needs. As well you can ask for fresh towels everyday, so no environmental aspect was taken into consideration here at all but saving staff making your bed daily. Bedsheets were dirty when we arrived, staff was annoyed as we asked to please change it and when we arrived back into the room it was poorly made as in the picture..
The ventilator in the tiny bathroom is pretty loud and not to switch off, it takes more than 1 hour to stop. Loud street in front of the door, no jacuzzi on the roof as presented in the pictures. Staff was not helpful and pretty rude as well. Instead of kindly canceling our reservation as we were not happy at all they offered us to pay even more to get a so called upgrade into a bigger room… No thanks, never again and not worth the money.

This perfectly-situated hotel firmly believes in its "we like to do things our way"-attitude which is fine but given the absence of facilities, lack of service and overpriced room it turns out to be a bit pretentious. The design of the room is strange and not very practical. For some reason a large wooden bench of no particular use is placed in the middle of the room, in front of the bed (mind your knees!). The shower is oddly separated from the toilet and you need a manual to use the shower tap. The climate inside the room is unpleasantly warm and dry which is especially annoying at night as there's no fridge or mini-bar at your disposal if you're thirsty. The noisy, disturbing ventilation system in the shower switches on about every night and keeps you awake for half an hour. The limited cleaning policy of the hotel is confusing and annoying. Basically only the bed has been made up once during our stay. No fresh towels or anything. Contact with the hotel staff is very limited. There's no regular reception desk and we came down once to order a drink at the bar on the ground floor but there was no-one around. We waited for a while and left eventually. We considered the staff's approach as anonymous and not very welcoming.

I stayed in one of the bigger rooms of this hotel for two nights to treat myself to something nice for my birthday but also because there are no actually world class hotels in this area. I wanted to be close to Prenzlauer Berg and this hotel is very well connected.
I mean it’s nice and all but it’s not that nice. It just lacks the effortlessness, confidence and class it would like to convey (slogans are written on all doors) - which makes it quite symbolic for this area of Berlin.
The room has potential (namely the bathtub, big nice bed and the large bathroom area) but also a lot of weaknesses: no bedside tables, no fridge, no table to eat at, no hair conditioner (not cool with the hard Berlin water) or no kettle (just capsule coffee machine). The windows aren’t sound insulated very well and you can always hear some sirens. The staff are nice but not super professional.
I feel the hotel management were trying to build a brand but stopped somewhere. The room seems a bit underdecorated and sterile and not so well thought through. There’s this big chest with some stuff in it (slippers and laundry bag) but it’s unclear what else it’s for. Would be nicer to have something to put your suitcase in an elegant way. The entrance and bathroom area was a bit hospital-ly and cold.
I opted for breakfast outside after seeing the very underwhelming buffet.
The roof top is nice but doesn’t have bar service - for which you have to go to reception.
All in all, i really wanted to like the hotel but it underdelivered a bit for my taste.
