I stayed here with my Golden Retriever in November 2022 and loved it. We had a second floor room with a view to the south and of the beach, a half block to the west. The room was bright and airy and comfortable with plenty of room and the daily rate was very reasonable. I was so impressed, that I returned this week and brought my husband, too. When we opened the door to our room, it did not meet the same standard from the previous stay, even at a similar room rate as last year. The room was smaller, darker and lacked any view. I returned to the front desk and asked whether any rooms on the second floor and with a similar view as I described above were available. The front desk agent checked and found that just such a room was available and that it came with a walk-in special rate that was less than half the rate as my reserved room. I would have been very happy to get the room without the special rate, but they honored the special rate anyway! I will always come back to this hotel when I visit San Diego. Thank you Pacific Shores Inn for making my stays here so wonderful.

Nice location. But DO NOT stay here. Property management leaves overnight and local gangs/kids must know it. Car party outside our room and nothing we can do about it. Booming shaking music and fearful of leaving my room at 2am to go to the front desk and report party. No one answers the front desk. Turns out they aren’t even here and that’s why the place is perfect for park and party. Do NOT stay here if you want to sleep. Party and booming music within 2-3 feet of my front door and the party cars parked ON the property. Room itself was just ok. Peeling paint in the bathrooms, heater did not work so they gave us a plug in electric heater and a blanket, and pretty bare minimum amenities. We had to ask for toilet paper within a day of checking in, no hooks to hang towels, hair dryer supposed to be mounted, but awkward to use in two pieces. Great location close to beach and restaurant, but overall disappointing. Loud car party right outside our room within steps of the front door sealed the deal for me. Would not recommend to anyone.

A gem in Pacific Beach! Pacific Shores Inn is practically ON the beach. Delightful, friendly front desk staff. Spacious room with table and two chairs, closet with fridge/ironing board/iron, bathroom with toiletries provided in shower, extremely comfortable bed/pillows and GREAT lighting (hotel/motel rooms often have horrible lighting). Many, many options for dining/coffee/shopping within walking distance. I will definitely stay here whenever I return to Pacific Beach.

The best parts about this place were the: staff, parking available, and location. The front staff were incredibly nice and made the stay a lot better. The rooms were very clean, which helped a bunch with my asthma. Beds were stiff but not terrible. Pillows weren't great. But the thing that bothered me the most, especially having been by myself, was how thin the walls were. I couldn't sleep at all because I could hear everything and staying alone in the place freaked me out because it genuinely sounded like there were people in my room when it was just the neighboring rooms near by or kids walking down the street along the beach line.
