Big Plus: The location is great! Walking distance to a lot of great locations. Biggest Plus and perfect spot. Breakfast: Breakfast was very English, but the quality was okay. It's little things like the cheese for the whole morning is on a plate the whole time. It gets sweaty, which is kind of disgusting. Would be nicer if they brought out fresh cheese from time to time. Same with the bacon and eggs. They just sit there for hours and you can taste it. But if you are early, breakfast is good. Rooms: Spacious for the UK and well decorated. We really liked it. But not very well cleaned. There was a layer of dust everywhere and stains on the toilet, mirror, and sink. Bed: The beds were a dream! So Comfortable. And 5* service with a choice of different pillows.

Rooms: The rooms are pretty nice with everything that you need here. If you like tea you will need to ask reception for more teabags or milk. The TVs are not great, volume doesn't work (room 361) and TV in room 359 doesn't work at all. The beds are VERY soft. I found this very uncomfortable to sleep in. Breakfast: I would imagine if you're down early it would be better as everything seems to sit for hours. If you like crispy bacon you'll not find it here. Sausages are a bit spicy. Black pudding is soggy, potato bread is like leather etc. On our second morning we ordered poached eggs which were fresh. We also ordered the waffles which were beautiful... These came recommended by our fabulous waitress Jackie. (She really needs a pay raise) Pool: The water is a bit cool but okay. Steam room is great... Highly recommended. Sauna didn't work the day I was there but my wife said it was working the following evening. Staff: We found everyone very helpful although Jackie went above and beyond! Location: Great as it's very convenient to many locations. It's a good ten minute walk from Princess street tram stop. We bought a 4 day family ticket (£50) which allowed us to go from the airport to city centre. Also allowed us to go out too the royal yacht, Murray field ice rink and back to the airport.

Room was very comfortable. We did get a double bed when had asked for twin room but this was quickly changed with no issue. Staff excellent, allowed us to leave luggage all day. Welcomed in bar/lounge area for the evening when waiting for a late train home. We would definitely go back to stay again. Easy walk from the train station with all you need in walking distance.

I stayed here for two nights during November. The receptionists were very welcoming, allowing us to check in at 6:00 am instead of waiting until the afternoon. Additionally, the location was perfect, situated in the heart of the city center, close to every cafe, restaurant, shop, and attraction one would seek. However, the room was not as clean as expected. While the beds were clean and comfortable, the carpet was full of hair, and I discovered an open bottle of drink with two used glasses hidden behind the curtain on the floor. It appears that the housekeeping staff did not perform their duties with precision. Furthermore, when I requested slippers from the reception, they were sent by one of the housekeeping staff. The staff member knocked on the door, but shockingly, they opened it in less than 5 seconds. I believe a hotel with such a good reputation should have flawless housekeepers. Unless these weaknesses are addressed, I will choose another hotel in the same area for my next stay.

Stayed for Hogmanay. Room was spacious and very modern, probably a very recent refurbishment as it was immaculate. It was a little disappointing that on arrival the room was very cold though and the TV didn't work. Luckily I wasn't planning on being in the room long enough for TV to matter and the room did heat up fairly quickly once the heating was on. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was again very nicely decorated. Shower had good pressure. Only slight criticism here would be the non-slip mat that did like to slide and the gel dispensers one of which didn't want to work at all while another shot across the room like a canon. The staff at the hotel were exceptional. Service at check-in, the bar, and the evening and morning meal service was perfect. A warm, friendly and attentive experience all round.
