I had a lovely stay recently at this hotel. The location was close to where I was working and there were plenty of good restaurants nearby. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but the best part of this hotel was the staff. From front desk, to housekeeping to maintenance, any question or issue I had were handled promptly, efficiently and with a lovely demeanor and a smile. Thank you Residence Inn in Columbus!

(Updated) The good: Front desk and cleaning staff were courteous, professional and helpful (but see below). Spacious room layouts. The bad: We were put into a room that was not ready for habitation. Only part of the shower pressure would come through the shower head. The living room smart TV box didn't work so no TV/YouTube/Netflix. Worst of all, the air conditioning in our room didn't work at all and it was too hot to sleep. We ended up being moved to a different room in the middle of the night where the A/C worked only very slightly better. The coffee maker had used coffee grounds and hadn't been cleaned. The reservoir looked like it had NEVER been cleaned. One of the utensil drawers was filthy, had something sticky and brown inside. There was a sponge but only dishwasher detergent, so it wasn't possible to hand wash the coffee maker or utensils. Oh, and after initially working fine, the smart TV box in the bedroom broke, had no channels/YouTube/Netflix and started flickering wildly. That's 0/2 on working televisions. When we moved rooms, I knew it was likely we'd forget something and was assured that any items found could be claimed promptly. In the morning, realizing we were missing a few items, I contacted the front desk. 45 minutes after not hearing anything, I went down to the desk and was told housekeeping was in a meeting (nobody else could let me into the room we were in just hours before?). Had to go back to the desk again for an update, before finally being allowed to claim our items more than an hour after reporting them.

Very beautiful building. Its amazing how people from NY came to build this a long time ago.. The rooms were clean and spacious. I do feel that they need to start upgrading however. The rooms were a bit outdated and the pullout couch bed was like sleeping directly on metal springs... for the price you pay the rooms should be a little better. Just because you have an awesome old school building doesn't mean you shouldn't keep up with the times. Keep the building old school but keep the rooms updated. Vallet service was on point and very kind. Front desk was also kind but did forget to mention the deposit and the amount.
