My friends and I were staying for one night. At first, our stay was pleasant. We went to the lounge area where there were complimentary beverages. I personally asked the front desk for a coke, since none were available in the mini fridge. He explained that they needed to be restocked, but later took the effort to look in the back and provided my friends and I with soft drinks. I was grateful. Then, around 1:30am, we left our belongings at the lounge to purchase some snacks at the local 7-Eleven. Upon our return, the front desk started yelling at my friends in Chinese. He called us rude and ill mannered for not cleaning after ourselves. He then proceeded to threaten us stating that he will kick out our guests. We were a group of 7. Four were staying at the hotel. The remaining 3 friends came to surprise our friend for his birthday. After this totally unprofessional outburst, a completely unwarranted response for us leaving our belongings along with the soft drink he provided, for a quick trip across the street. Please note, only 1 other guest was using the lounge during our visit. His response was completely unnecessary and an overreaction. I have never been more angered at a hotel for their poor people skills. With that being said, this experience ruined my stay. Since most of us did not understand Chinese, my friend had to bear most of the anger from the front desk gentleman. I will never stay here again. There are plenty of options in the area.

I wish there were more honest reviews prior to my booking. I do not recommend this place for families especially ones with young children, hygiene is a big issue with this place. Cons: - Musty/mouldy smells due to poor ventilation and old carpets. - Rundown, barely looks anything like the pictures advertised. Walls are dirty with dusts, marks and grimes. - Mould in bathroom. - Washing machine and dryer on premises looks to best at least 20 years old and does not work properly. - Poor soundproofing, can hear everything in the corridors. Pros: - Good location - Staffs are nice - Free drinks and snacks Tourism organisations should regulate hotel photos. The rooms are much smaller and dirtier than advertised photos. Attached are pictures taken during our stay in December 2023.

I’d say this was A- okay. Location is absolutely amazing - near 2 MRT lines and tons of places to eat and shop. Room was basic & clean but old carpet & thin towels, and as many have said- really thin walls. I’m an easy sleeper so no big deal but my partner needed earplugs. Shower heat & pressure were surprisingly good. Shower gel was fine. Used the coin washer & dryer and it was bad- powder blobs on our clothes ( not ours, we used liquid detergent) & dryer barely dried. Wifi was kind of irregular which was a big problem when we had to log into work. Sometimes we had to camp out in lobby/ lounge for better signal or go to Ann Young cafe down the street. Also there’s no space for desk or table in the room so guests do eat or do work in lobby. Free snacks, drinks & water was good. Card access needed for elevators. Front door watch person on site although he doesn’t really check anyone. This being Taiwan, I did always feel safe. Walked to Songshan public sports facility nearby for workouts since there’s nothing at hotel. Basically if you don’t spend much time in the room- this totally is a well- priced well located stay. But it’s basic and no frills so if you’re accustomed to fancier stays & amenities- not for you.

Please beware of this major consideration before you book. This hotel is not suitable for families or anyone interested in more than 2 hours of sleep a night. It is directly located below a Karaoke Bar with revellers belting out Mandarin ballad tunes to 5 am in the morning. The supposed sound proofing does not work at all. Not to mention the loud hot water system from adjacent rooms, where early morning showers are extremely loud. The customer service was excellent and credit to the front desk for being very helpful, but it's a tough job for them as they are working with hands tied behind their back. Only God knows how this hotel got approved by the local authorities to build under the K bar. The K bar disputes they were there first before the hotel.
