Had a brief stay here when visiting Osaka, it is a very large and fancy hotel. Luxury, almost in an overbearing way. We arrived quite hot, tired and disheveled as it is a long walk from the station to the hotel (I believe the tram / train services were not operational that day), but also Osaka travel is a lot harder than in Tokyo (less English available). The staff were quite brisk, and in the swimming / spa area there were some sharp comments (due to some difficult to understand rules, which we tried to follow) The room however was huge, extremely luxurious and comfortable. It was extremely high up, so offered a view over most of Osaka. Plenty of space, with a desk, great bath and toilets. There were not many places to eat around, unfortunately, but perhaps we were less informed to Osaka than Tokyo. I would recommend if you are more aware of Osaka, and if you like old-style luxury.

Read other comments, and I think they are mostly unfair. The hotel is good for its price, and one can certainly see it had its peak time back then. One of few things in the room I do wanna emphasize that I consider absurd, though: the room is relatively small BUT it’s Osaka; the hotel and the rooms are old, but they are definitely making some minor updates(eg. TV). However, I especially do not like the fact that their A/C is so old that it can only be set as cold or hot by the hotel, with no temperature control feature at all(you can only turn it on or off and adjust the wind speed). The bathroom also gives me a 90s working class Japanese apartment vibe. So the hotel wishes to continue its effort to keep the hotel in good shapes, you should consider starting from those two aspects.

OLD. AGED. Musty smelling. We paid 8 nights. Window is sealed and the air conditioner only functioning as heater. So either let it stuffy or turning on the heater. We couldn’t fall asleep due to 30+ Celsius degrees. Called front desk and they couldn’t make any moves to solve the problem. This ain’t a 4 star hotel as my understanding. Super ugly drawing like child paint on the wall, we thought someone damaged the wall. Terrible location.

It seems ridiculous that some reviewers are paying cheap prices for Osaka standards for this hotel and is expecting Conrad rooms lol. Do people not look at the pictures before they book? This hotel is OLD and has a long of history, which is why it’s one of the most iconic hotels in Osaka and during holidays, it’s packed with Japanese families. For the price I paid for, even as low as 60 USD a night a month ago, I have no complaints. Especially if you’re a Diamond member, they do their best to upgrade you. I was upgraded to a bigger room once and a suite another time. If you opt for the free drink vouchers as a welcome gift, I highly recommend using it at the bar in the basement. The bar makes you feel like you went back in time but it’s such a luxury nostalgic feeling. The vibe along with the live performance was really making me feel like the price was well worth it. They even have a karaoke room too which is unheard of nowadays in a hotel. 7-11 is also located in the basement and is connected to the train station. The only bad thing is that you have to pay 6,000 yen for gym/pool access. Do not complain about this place before even doing your research. People do not book this hotel because of its location, since its location in an area with nothing around.

This hotel is located north of the city center near the museum of arts. There's a bus shuttle provided by the hotel to and from Osaka Station. You can also get there by underground or by bus. In the room you will find the bed, a safe, a big TV and a kettle. The room also has AC and a humidifier. The bedding is rather nice even if it's old. In the bathroom (not a sealed unit), you will find a washlet and a bath/shower. The pressure and temperature of the water are good and the products provided to wash yourself are nice. TIP: there's a 7-eleven in B1F
