Great space. Room service was phenomenal. Everyone here was so kind. Everyone also spoke English very well. Food here is also good. Great location, central to everything. Great area to walk around. Felt very safe.

Like others have stated, this is a great place to meet people. The pool, bar, and public areas including a fire are nice. The staff were adequately friendly and helpful. The problem is the bedrooms are way too small for the number of people that are in them, and the bunks are wooden boxes which obstruct the light and ventilation. The whole room reeked of humidity, mold, and mildew. Fun placed to be, not a great place to sleep. Also, they charge $5 to rent a towel, which is obscene considering the prices that towels can be bought for ($10) and the towel rental prices at other hostels ($0.00 to $1.00)

I love the social scene, the free yoga classes, and access to the cowork office. The premise is very clean. The staff are very helpful and communicative. They accommodated my several changes, which I appreciate. But oh god, like other reviews have said, the dorm rooms are terrible. They’re so crammed, smell really bad, and the storage space is horribly designed. I mean if we have to, we’ll get used to it, but I’m also thinking if you’re very tall or have big legs, there will be much discomfort. All the intended locks are not working and/or pretty much useless. Lastly, while some tours are reasonably priced, for the most parts, Selina’s shuttle prices are high. However, the rides were all smooth and very nice drivers. If you could afford it for your peace of mind like I did, it might be worth it.

Honestly one of the top hostels I've stayed at, I know there are reviews regarding rooms that have a "smell" to it but in all honestly, the area is damp and rainy and alot of the smell was from just dirty clothes that people hang dry in their rooms. Rooms were everything I could ask for, not small by any means (6 person dorm perfect), AC unit and lockers for each room. Very Beautiful restaurant/pool area with communal dining space. If you are in your 20s-30s, I think this place is an excellent option to stay. I even saw families here with kids that stayed in the private tent room. Pura Vida!

This would be a 4 or 5 star review if it weren’t for the mildew smell: I was skeptical of the other reviews but this Selina is the worst of four I have been to here in Costa Rica and another in Mexico. The rooms smell like mildew and the six bedroom dorms are too cramped. There is no space for your luggage. On the flip side, the yoga classes are great when they are running (you need to tell the front desk you are interested so they can get a yoga teacher in, they need enough people interested).
