Great hotel in central location! Lovely bathroom and generous sized room. Check in wasn’t until 4pm but there’s a nice lobby downstairs and location is great to explore south beach. Staff super friendly too at reception.

Sonder the Abbey Hotel offers a wonderful stay in a lovely old building that has lots of modern touches, making it really comfortable and inviting. But what really makes a stay here special is the amazing people who work here. Julian, especially, made our visit something to remember with his friendly and super helpful service. He always had a smile, was ready to help with anything we needed, and made us feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you feel like the staff really cares about making your visit great, and that makes all the difference. From the cozy rooms to the warm welcomes every day, I loved every minute of my stay.

We arrived and the hotel smells very musty. There was a fan running downstairs so they are having an issue of some kind. Luckily, the room didn’t smell but our A/C didn’t work. After several stops at the check in desk, they changed our room and made it better. Not the nicest place we have ever stayed but for one night it did the job!

You're going to get this place mostly because of the location and not the room/hotel. Modern styled rooms in a renovated building. A lot of places for improvement for their finishing work on the construction quality, but....it will do. The walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbors. We heard people packing and zippers being moved very clearly. The sheets felt like they were all synthetic and not cotton or breathable materials. We woke up multiple times sweaty or too hot. They don't have room service, which is ok. When we visited, a storm flooded the lobby and knocked out the WiFi. It wasn't their fault, but we also noticed that each room had their own private wifi for the TV and that was down as well. I would not say this is a kid friendly place.

My stay at The Abbey was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the room was, especially for the price. The check-in process was smooth, and the receptionist was very pleasant. There was an unpleasant smell in the lobby, and the male washroom wasn't working. However, there was a notice to apologize for the inconvenience. The room smelled amazing. It was very clean and neat. The decor was modern and chic. Some areas of grout in the shower needed cleaning. Apart from that, the room was great. Wifi is available and was strong. There is a tv; however, no cable. The hotel is in close proximity to the beach, restaurants, bars, and pharmacy. Parking is not provided. There is one for $20 per day, no re-entry. The other is $40 per day with re-entry. The recommended parking is in close enough. Check-in is at 4pm and not 3pm as the norm, check-out is 11am.
