Rooms were clean and there was not much noise after 10pm as other reviews said, especially if you turned on the air con and used it as white noise. Our main concern was the kitchen which was disgusting! Dirty dishes everywhere, flies all the time, food in the fridge dated from May, just terrible management. We were at Global Backpackers a few days before and their kitchen was immaculate, so a big contrast. When we also checked in, we had not received our passcode, and since no one mans the front desk we had to call the number. We did not have to wait too long, but it wasn't the best first impression of the place and again, showed lack of management. Location is good but just needs better management of staff for cleaning and admin to run better

I’m giving one star because a staff who working there for causal is not doing right thing. I went there to book for my stay, she informed me I could get discount every week if I stay there for long, and I could pay once a week when I checked in, she told me, she can’t give me discount every week and the price was quite high at that time, and there’s no availability in other hostel nearby so I had to stay there. Their rule in the hostel is : if you cancel, there’s no refund, so since already booked for me for many days, I had to stay there with no discount, but other staff there was awesome!

Great hostel to stay at if you want to be in the middle of the action, bars restaurants, esplanade etc.The staff were friendly and helpful.Bed was cozy. Amenties clean and tidy. Only complaint was the aircon was old and very noisy.

I guess we should have known that Saturday night in a hostel on the esplanade might be a bit rowdy... But even so, it was stupid loud, all night. There was a party in the common area until midnight, then people coming and going (& talking loudly) every 1-2 hours until we finally gave up at 6am. We'd just gotten in off a boat, tired and needing rest, but instead our Sunday was a complete write off. The background noise (100 wallmount aircon units in a tin shed, plus more on the roof) was also pretty comical though it didn't bother us personally. A shame as other than that it seemed like a nice enough place.
