We truly enjoyed our stay at the Grand West. Its location is perfect. Very accessible to all the sites in Arashiyama yet set back from all the chaos and tourist. The staff is beyond accommodating, you can find coffee 24 hrs a day in the lobby, the in house breakfast is very tasty, the staff knows the area and will point you in the right direction. If you are looking to visit this part of Kyoto, look no further. I will suggest this hotel to all my friends and family if they ever make it to Kyoto.

Absolutely wonderful hotel when you want to stay in Arashiyama. Very kids friendly i.e. they provided us diaper pail, toys, kids size utensils and plates. Water bottle and tea/coffee are free to grab. Of course everybody at front desk were nice and helpful. 100% recommended!!!

My best experience in Japan hotels has been at this cozy hotel, with the make you feel at home hospitable staff. Reminded me again why Japan customer service experience is such a delight. Recommend this hotel to all my friends and any one out there wanting to see true Kyoto.

Excellent hotel. Rooms are relatively spacious making it ideal for families with kids. Cleanliness is top notch for both the room and the building in general. Looks recently renovated so interior and equipment are new, and as it used to be a kind of an apartmne ubilding before it has a "feel home" atmosphere. The staff are very kind. There are lots of small welcoming gestures that put a smile on your face such as complimentary coffee or tea bags at the lobby, toys for kids, or an open rooftop with a tent. Location it is just a 5 minute walk from the nearest train station, and for those who are comfortable taking local routes there are two close by bus stations. Other than that the hotel can easily arrange a taxi or you can rent some of the bicycles available at the hotel. As a bonus, the restaurant/bar at the ground floor has excellent burgers!

The best place you can stay during your holiday in Kyoto! Good for families! It's close to one of the top attractions -Arashiyama, but in the same time it's on a quiet and peaceful street. Great staff and service! They made us feel very special and treated us not only as customers but as very special guest and friends! The room was spacious, super clean, modern, fresh! The coffee fantastic! The restaurant downstairs provides original and delicious food! The nature around is just amazing and recharging! We enjoyed every little bit of our stay there and would recommend to everyone heading to Kyoto! We would definitely stay there again on out next visit to Kyoto!
