Pune Airport (IATA: PNQ) is located 10 km from the city centre, in Lohegaon. It was established as a Royal Air Force (RAF) base in 1939. Formally known as Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala Airport (IATA: IXA) is located 12 km northeast of Agartala. It is the third-busiest airport in the Northeast. It was built by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur in 1942.
