Aloft Bogota Airport

The staff attentiveness at food court and bar made a huge difference in our two week stayed at the hotel. Staff members Jahir, Angel and Gina played a great part in our positive experience at this place. Hope to see them back in my future return.

Currently staying at the bogota location. We’ve been here since Tuesday 9/26. Upon our arrival everything was ok, check in went smoothly, everything seemed as it should for a hotel. My wife and I get up to our room and it was hot. First things first lower the thermostat in the room. Nope doesn’t work. Go down to the front desk and inquired about it or working. The front desk says it’s because our room is facing the sun so it’ll feel warmer (west). Mind you I’m on the 6th floor as well. They said it’ll get cooler once the sun sets. Fine, go back to my room, sun sets 4 hours later it’s still hot and stagnant. Go back down to the front desk again. They offered a standing fan if I wanted to be cooler. We agreed and took the fan. This fan was dirty and when in certain positions it would start to randomly chirp. Fine, I have a fan at home like this you have to randomly readjust it to make it stop. I know I’m not in the US so I just accepted my squeaking fan that randomly wakes me up to readjust it. 2. Upon our check in around 3pm we took a shower and used the towels. By the evening the were still a little damp so I used google translate went to the front desk and asked for two more towels for my room. They smiled and agreed. Waiting and waiting no towels came. My wife phones down to the front desk and they agreed to bring the towels. 5min later we were brought one towel. I had to request from the guy right there for two. 3. Next morning we went to breakfast and came back to our room that have been cleaned. Bed was unmade wet towels were stacked in the corner still. They only changed our dish soap from black to white. We requested for the room to be cleaned and fresh towels again. They came within 20min which was fine we had laundry to do. Oh by the way they have a washer and dryer on our floor. But when inquiring about laundry they only offered their laundry services pay-per-item. They cleaned the room well enough and it was appreciated. 4. Things went alright for a day or two besides the squeaking fan randomly in the middle of the night. Also the phone started beeping randomly wanting a charge. We finally got it to stop. Annoying that neither one of us could sleep soundly with this thing randomly squeaking and the phone randomly beeping and constantly having to readjust things. They cleaned the room appropriately this time as well. 5. Today 9/29 is where things went wrong. We got to bed around 10:30 Laying there half in and out of sleep the fan squeaks. Get up and adjust. Happened again two more times. The time is now 11:40 ish. The phone started beeping. My wife gets up trying to disconnect the battery the phone nothing was working. She took it down to the front desk and they removed the battery. She also requested for a new fan. She came back and reported to me that a new fan was on the way and the phone is not an issue anymore. I’m standing by the door waiting for the new fan. Nothing. Put the fan outside so they can see which room in case they forgot. 10-15min go by. Nothing. I grab the fan go to the front desk and drop it off. They just stared at me and I proceeded to walk away. Went back to my room and lay there for a while. The time is now 1am and no fan. I argue with my wife a little then go to the front desk. Everyone sitting around on their phones and talking. I said I need a fan. They get up and took me in to the service elevator and I’m complaing to ruen that it shouldn’t have taken this long. He says I no speak English. I kept complaining and he kept saying he didn’t know English but understood every response he asked me. Either way if he didn’t that’s his deal because I don’t understand most Spanish. It took a total of 5min. Got back to my room and I’m heated. Arguing with my wife about the experience. We go back down to the front desk around 2 am to complain. My wife is from here so no excuse not to understand me this time. They proceeded to deflect and state things like. But didn’t you get your towels, didn’t you get the fan, why aren’t you happy?
