The location is very good, very close to the station, the overall experience is 4 stars I stayed here for two days this time and stayed in a room with a kitchenette. The coop is also nearby, which is very convenient for independent travelers who want to have a simple dinner. And the best place to experience it was when I arrived at my accommodation in Grindelwald, I found that my glasses had fallen into my accommodation in Lucerne. Since we couldn’t call the hotel directly using our mobile phones abroad, we went to the counter to ask for assistance. The lady at the counter was very friendly. We explained the situation to her in poor English, and she also helped us make a phone call. She also knew that our language could not communicate with the hotel, and she also helped us explain the situation to the other party. After some communication, they originally sent it to us, but later suggested that if we didn’t rush back to Zurich in the end, it would be safer to go directly to pick it up on site. They also sent us an email to confirm with the hotel. Finally, I managed to get my glasses, which are not very expensive. But my stay in Switzerland this time made me feel very warm in my heart. Thank you for your help and wish you all the best in the future

The lobby and breakfast area are nicely updated with local charm. Upgrade to a room with a view of The Eiger and enjoy the views from your own private balcony. The rooms themselves are dated but clean. Breakfast was included and is awesome. Location is perfect as you are literally steps away from the train, bus, and Coop grocery.

The hotel is 1 min walk away from the bahnhof. It was convenient to get to the train, bus, and Coop (supermarket). The staff were really really nice and supportive. The breakfast was pretty good. However, the room itself was… pretty bad. It was much smaller than I expected. I’m pretty sure the room was for one person not for two, because the bedside lamps were on my bed (see the pic). I hit the lamp every night. The switches for the lamps were covered by the bed, so were the outlets. Besides, the standing lamp and the hair dryer were not working at our arrival. (We called the reception and the lady came to help us immediately so I want to emphasize that the staff was really nice and helpful) Last, I can hear so much noise from other rooms and customers. The soundproofing was bad. Although I wrote a lot complaining about the room, the hotel was still pretty good considering how much we paid, the location, and the kind staff. I’m sure there are hotels with better rooms in Grindelwald but one would need to pay a lot more.

We had booked our stay at central Walter for 2 days well in advance. From the word go the lady at the front desk was point blank rude. We had travelled for 16 hours to reach the hotel and asked for an early check in but were denied the same. Upon request the owner lady gave us a room for early check in. After sometime the owner Mr Andrea’s barged into our hotel room and asked us to vacate the room as the booking was cancelled by them a night prior without our knowledge due to over booking. We had paid the tariff full in advance but they were not ready to accept it. The owner and the entire staff kept barging into our room and threatened us to call the police if we didn’t vacate the room. I have never seen anyone more racist than the owner Mr Andrea’s in my entire life. He cancelled our booking officially so we couldn’t review them. We were thrown out the room , by coercing and threats of police for god knows what reasons. I have video proof of how the lady threw us out of the room. We had to cancel our trip to jaungfrau that day and we had to go hotel to hotel asking for accommodation. We have also left a complaint at the tourist office in grindelwald as we were not feeling safe. It was the worst experience as tourist and the most terrible experience I’ve ever had in my life. Think twice before booking. Google doesn’t allow posting videos but I will certainly do that on social media.
