Most amazing gardens and setting for a boutique hotel, so very happy that I changed to Chala Number 6. Perfectly located in the old town, the rooms are spacious with the deluxe balcony room well worth it, overlooking the amazing pool, tea house and gardens, especially lit up at night. Service was wonderful too, highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Chala No. 6. The rooms and facilities are beautiful and the staff are professional and kind. We especially appreciate the reservation manager, Patty. The company we booked the room for messed up our reservation and changed our booking to Chala No. 2 down the road. Patty was able to work with our travel company to get us a room at Chala No. 6, despite being the busiest time of year. We really appreciate the support! We would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Chiang Mai!

The breakfast was below standards, as I don’t eat al the warm buckets of rice in the morning I wanted to have some yoghurt. Well apparently I could go to the 7eleven if I wanted such. Asking for coffee seemed already too much. No things like sugar or salt on the table. Dirty dishes (one spoon had some snot in it). The pool outside is freezing cold and nobody swims in it for that reason. It’s just for sitting around. Every morning you wake up with the sound of screaming children of the school next door. Or the Saturday morning no sleeping also because refurbishment of the neighbour house. The massages are overpriced and so are the drinks. Order a baileys there, just for fun. You will have a good laugh. But the most disturbing was that when I was standing outside the hotel going to take a taxi when they rushed out to put a picture of a blooded mini guest towel in my face and said I had to pay for that. I was embarrassed. My friend even more. She had an accident with her period. When I checked out they showed me a printed version of the little guest towel with a tiny smoosh on it and a fine of 200 baht. It was beyond embarrassing and now insulting. We had stayed 7 nights in this hotel. Not used the free minibar or their complementary high tea, but now had to pay a lousy 200 baht for an already overpriced stay, but not only that: they thought it was okay to make pictures of that towel and show it to every employee and print it out. To embarrass you with this behavior is beyond anything I ever encountered. Something that could have solved with a bit a cold water. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t care about the money. It’s the way they handled it. Just insulting and not worthy the supposed five stars. In the meantime I got a response on my bookings review: we're very sorry and we hope to welcome you again. Are you serious?
