Basic but very comfortable rooms. A little worn in places, but for the price can't complain. Beds very comfortable and the shower had good pressure and temperature. Arriving very late (after midnight) the front desk were very quick at getting me checked in.

I stayed here this week from Monday to Saturday (5 nights) and found the location very good (especially for the price point). Its an 8-10 minute walk to Oslo Central Train Station even in snow and ice. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and polite. In the evenings when I returned from my adventures I could sit with a glass of wine in the seating area of the reception/bar and relax without feeling uncomfortable, even though I was a solo traveller. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and I felt very safe and non judged as a single female traveller. There were works going on outside the hotel with digging up the road however my room was at the back so I wasn't disturbed by any noise. With the room itself, it was certainly basic, and smaller than the picture advertised by the holiday company I booked with (including no drop down dressing table) but it was clean and cosy, and the bed was very comfortable and importantly it was also very clean. I got a double room (moderate) which was just about adequate for one person with luggage. I think two people would gave struggled as one side of the bed was totally unusable due to supporting structural beams cutting diagonally through the wall into floor. You just couldn't move around it. The other side of the bed was just a few inches wide which had a ledge, so you had to access & leave the bed by the end of it. Fine for a me as a single person, not so great for a couple. The sheets were clean, the bathroom with shower a generous size and spotless. A lovely large sink with mirror, and decent width shelf to put my toiletries on. They do provide hand wash, and in the shower a combined hair & body wash if you need it, but I prefer my own favourite products. I appreciated being able to move around in the shower freely, and bend down to wash my feet without having to open the doors of the shower to make room and then freeze like in other hotel showers that are usually too small. I could also wash my hair without elbows up against the glass. Apart from the comfortable bed, the shower was a highlight of the room. Seriously 10/10 for the shower space, and quite generous bathroom size overall. I noted some other person who commented that they didn't know how to work the temperature of the shower, so I was a bit nervous but when I got in there it was very straight forward. The left hand side knob/dial controls the temprature. Turn in towards you and it gets hotter, turn away and it gets cooler, there are even little triangles engraved into it showing you up or down for hotter or cooler. It couldn't be more simple so I don't understand why at least one reviewer complained they couldn't use the shower? Plenty of clean crisp white towels provided. And the bathroom had a hair dryer with two heat settings, and a cool blast setting. I liked that you use your key to both unlock and relock your room from the outside. It stops you accidently locking yourself out then having to do the walk of shame to reception to be let back in. Good idea, but you do need to remember to hold your key to the door to lock the room when going out, it will flash red to confirm the door is locked. The room is basic (hence the price) so there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but downstairs in reception there is free coffee, & access to large water dispenser to fill up your bottle. I take my own travel kettle because I like to have a cup of tea as soon as I wake up. The room had plenty of sockets to use my electrical items and charge my phone. The room was too hot when I first went in at 20°c so the man on reception the first day I checked in gave me a second key after asking what temp I wanted the room, and to leave it in the door panel slot. I did this and the room hovered between 18 & 19°C which was far more comfortable for me. I did initially ask for 15°C but the man on reception rightly thought that was not the best choice and set it for something more realistic, and sensible. 15°C would have been far too cold. I would stay here again, but go for a bigger room if given the option.
