We needed a place to stop on a trip from Toronto to Montreal. This is an older hotel that has had modest updating. However the beds are comfortable, the location really good. And it’s - cheap. Breakfast sucks. And there’s free/cheap parking. Did I say it was cheap? And it’s right by the water. Down the street from hotels that aren’t cheap.

Would have given four stars, except for the fact that the water was shut off an hour earlier than was posted on a sign by the elevator. At 7:15 AM, the sign said the water would be shut off sometime between 11 AM and 3 PM. I turned the tap on at 10:44 AM, and there was no water. I called the front desk, and they said The water was shut off at 10 AM. I went down to check the sign again, and they had changed it. They took the old sign off and put a new one on saying 10 AM. otherwise, the front desk and hospitality service was great. The room was as expected for the price, other than the very very very very loud heater that I had to turn off overnight in order to sleep.

I would give hotel a 2.5. When booking it said breakfast was included. Was not expecting what we got. 2 fridge cold hard boiled egg. 1 muffin 1yogurt 1 slice of cheese 1 juice box. No dietary accommodations made for anyone. Not even a milk substitute. Building is showing its age but great location.

Great location. The rooms and building is showing it’s age and the parking is a real problem. If you don’t have a large vehicle I strongly recommend paying the extra money for the underground garage. I was able to park my Nissan Frontier (small truck) in the lower level it just took lots of caution. I saw an SUV in there, so some brave soul made it work. Check that your vehicle is below 6 ft before entering. The city pay lot across the street is equally difficult to maneuver if it is crowded and less secure overnight. The locked bathrooms in the lobby is l also and inconvenience. Friendly front desk staff and cleaning staff was also helpful.

This place was a nightmare from beginning to end. For starters, they pulled a bait-and-switch on me. Within minutes of booking the room on expedia, I had an email from the hotel saying I would need to pay an extra $20 for parking. Neither the hotel nor expedia would let me cancel the reservation without forfeiting all the money. Apparently, it's stated somewhere on the listing that parking is not free. When we arrived, the desk clerk said I had requested a cityview room. Maybe that was also in the fine print(?) I said I would prefer a waterview room, if possible. The clerk said those rooms only have one bed. I said no problem. Then she said I'd have to call expedia to make the switch. I just settled for the cityview room. I wanted to give my kids a bath, but the tub faucet only ran tepid, no matter how long I ran it. Final problem was the noise from the next room. They were only speaking at a normal volume, but it came right through the walls. It sounded like it was coming through the doors that connected the rooms, rather than the wall, but either way, it kept us awake for hours. We'll never stay there again.
