Excellent service. A little way out of town but not a bad walk. Clean pleasent rooms though the shower was a little unusual. The lobby smelt quite a lot like smoke but overall was a good stay.

Booked on the day. Price on Expedia ended up being cheaper than booking directly despite being advised was getting a deal due to car parking and that we we would need to pay for parking but turns out Vyner Street accommodation had its own parking. So that was disappointing. The rooms were very very basic with a random shower in the middle. In addition to this. The bathroom had black mould on the walls which was a little bit scary. On the plus side location was 20 minute walk into the city centre which was handy.

Stayed in room 9, the room and bathroom were very clean. Towels and shower products were provided, there was also a portable heater and a fan in the room. However we found the central heating to be more than enough. It was a little confusing on arrival as the code for the door we were given didn't work, we called the number on the door and someone came within a couple of minutes to let us in and give us a key card.

Lovely, clean room. Great location- 15mins walk to York City centre but lots of lovely cafes, restaurants and shops on the way. Our host was there to greet us and was really friendly and helpful. The only negative is the caveat that we weren't allowed to drink alcohol in the room. As a sensible married couple in our mid 30s, we often prefer to go back to our hotel early and have a few drinks rather than stay late at a pub or club. Presumably the owners have been stung by daftness in the past which is a shame.

I stayed here from Friday 29th December until Tuesday 2nd January. Upon arrival at the property I called the number and was given a code for the entrance keypad which I entered then was allocated Room 1. There was another keypad there and the receptionist who answered my call gave me another code which gained access into the room. By the bed was the keycard which is used for both the door to the room as well as the external door outside the building. The bed was very comfortable but the duvet was a bit thin. Bedside lamp had no bulb in it and the socket was away from the wall (pictures attached). Location is ideal for the centre of York only 15-20 mins walk. No alcohol or smoking in the room and no takeaways allowed in the room which wasn't a big concern for me being teetotal and a non-smoker. No wardrobe in the room and a small chest of drawers and a coat rail above the door. Room is ensuite with a shower in the opposite corner. Some mould etc but not too much. I didn't find that an issue particularly as it's just a place to bed d
