Dunlin Hotel is amazing for the price! It is walking distance from the Acropolis and the other must see attractions. It is close to Omonia Metro which connects two lines of the metro. Like the other reviews point out, there are drug users outside the hotel on the adjacent square. My partner (female) and I walked around 5 in the morning, however they did not bother us. Some comments are overtly critical regarding this issue. Drug issues plague every European city and this is not different. They did not bother us throughout our stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They do a shuttle service to and from the airport even during the middle of the night hours. That could be something you might want to look into during non metro hours. I would go back to the hotel. The rooftop bar is a must visit!

Breakfast in hotel is very good. Rooms and the rooftop view is amazing. Rooms cleaning everyday. Locations is like in Pakistan, so mani junkies outside.

Hotel was very good. Service was great and the view from the rooftop was amazing. However, I wouldn't stay here again just because of the area. Which is a shame. Some taxi's wouldn't bring us. There are a lot of junkies and people hanging out in front of the hotel. As other people have said, it doesn't feel right.

Good enough hotel. It's clean and the amenities are good. The walls are quite thin and you can hear everything in the adkacent room. I didnt spend much time in the rooftop bar but it seems nice and has a great view. The hotel is however directly on the edge of a very run down and sketchy area. I advise to always approach the hotel from the main road to the north. (From Omonia station). Walking directly from Monastiraki station will have you walking by really sketchy stuff, people shooting heroin and smoking crack in the open, etc.

Simple, don't stay here. The area immediately surrounding the hotel is unsafe and awful. Used syringes lay on the sidewalk and in the gardens. Junkies roam the street outside the hotel - we were harassed for money as we checked in. It's a shame because the room was nice. But honestly it's most disappointing the hotel just ignores the issue. They don't warn guests about the safest routes out of the hotel or acknowledge it in anyway. You can see this in their response to other reviews where they claim the church is guarded - it's not, we never saw police. They also play it down as a non "problem" in their own words, claiming lots of Athens and other cities face the same issue. Stay anywhere else, even a couple of blocks away and you'll have a much better time.
