The reason for our 2* is at the very end! LOCATION The hotel is located about 15 minutes walk from the city center. This is then also the place where you can find restaurants and stores. On the way there is for example a supermarket and smaller stores and restaurants. We would rather describe the location as "just fine". THE HOTEL It is a typical Holiday Inn Express. Unfortunately, there are some small things that make us place this hotel rather at the lower end in terms of quality of the Holiday Inn Express we have visited (and there have been a few so far). THE TEAM Was nice. That's about all that can be said. There were no positive outliers to the upside, nor negative to the downside. THE ROOM This is a typical Holiday Inn Express room of the second to last generation. The cleanliness in the room was ok. Except for the negative points listed below, everything you need was there. Basically, we give a hotel where everything is as expected 3*. For everything that really struck us positively, there are more, for everything that struck us negatively, less *. Here is the reason for 2*: - There were no toothbrush cups in the room. - The free coffee powder provided in the room was not edible. We are really hard on coffee, but this brew ended up down the drain even for us. - Normally, in all Holiday Inn Express hangs a nice sign in the bathroom that you can get various bathroom items that you forgot at the reception for free on request. This sign is also here, only with the difference that you can ACQUIRE the things at the reception. - Of the good 30 TV programs, more than half do not work or the reception is so bad that you can not watch the program. - The rooms on the 4th floor are practically uninhabitable for people who are sensitive to noise. A constant hum and whir of the air conditioners on the roof are extremely disturbing. We were able to exchange our room for one on a lower floor without complaint. The reaction of the housekeeping showed us that the problem is known. - The included breakfast is quite ok. But when it comes to bread, the staff always takes a little time to refill it. - The housekeeping hardly not to the intermediate cleaning, although we were not in the room for several hours throughout the day. This is also the main reason for the * deduction. In the past, we always went to the front desk for such things. Today we don't do that anymore and accept this loss of comfort for short stays. For this, there is this * less. Finally, the hotel management wants us to pay the full invoice amount, even if the agreed service is not provided. - The price-performance ratio is absolutely not right. The hotel is quite expensive for a Holiday Inn Express. Justified would probably be a price 25% below what we paid. But that probably falls under "supply and demand". In a possible next stay in Baden-Baden, we would try another hotel.
