We stayed here for almost a week. The 2 bedroom apartment had fantastic views f the lake and the bed was very very comfortable. However there is nothing luxury about this hotel. At best it is an average Airbnb type accommodation both in the facilities and service offered. The room carpet looked dated and there was a stuffy smell when we first entered due to rooms not being aired. The crockery looked old and needs replacing. There was noise from adjoining rooms that we could hear distinctly. We requested a check out 2 hours later for which they wanted to charge us extra. Overall a very ordinary experience!

We loved staying at the Rees on our honeymoon trip, but do have to be honest about some aspects. The views: First up, the view was incredible. We were booked in a lakeview King on the top floor, so that impacted how we felt about the view, as some of the units in the floors below us or in the building behind were blocked by buildings. So it definitely depended on your room location in the hotel, but we had no complaints. The view was by far and away our favorite part! The rooms: Like some of the reviews here, we agree that the rooms were definitely more of a 3-4* experience than 5*. The bed was fine, but not incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was nice (and heated!) but nothing to write home about. The TV was a bit small and couldn't be viewed from the bed, which was fine for the most part because the views were so great. The service: This is where the Rees excelled. We felt very cared for our entire stay, no matter what ask/request we had, and everyone was kind and helpful that we interacted with. The convenience: The Rees is a bit out of Queenstown, but they have a complimentary shuttle (running every hour) that was very easy to book. However, I will note that we traveled during shoulder season, so had no problems with shuttle capacity, but there are only 11 seats which could be an issue during high season. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Rees and would definitely recommend it for the price - would just level set your expectations going in.

We stayed at the Rees hotel for three nights. Fabulous location. The view of Lake Wakatipu was breathtaking. The staff were very helpful at all times which together made our visit memorable. Definitely return here

Room is not spacious but we really enjoyed lake view for the last 6 nights here. Upon arrival, front officer said we had twin beds and she can see that we booked via Expedia which was incorrect information…I’ve booked this holiday via Qantas point and it was our honeymoon. This was rectified shortly and bedding was very comfortable. Daily cleaning was not done properly, they forgot to empty bins, not folding hanging bathrobes or did not remove empty plates & spoons from room service but we didn’t mind too much as housekeeping team was very friendly & polite. Friendly staff in general and they were very helpful. I would like to thank to Eugene who was really attentive and made a most impression during our stays even though we only met him once 😊 he was truly amazing hotelier! On the other notes. Jimmy made me to wait for 30min in the morning of I was travelling Milford Sound as he forgot to get back to me and my coffee order and served all the other guest which was extremely unpleasant experience but he said “sorry as you can see, we are really busy this morning” Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we would love to come back for winter season with our extended family!

My hotel stay was incredible! From check-in to check-out, I got amazing service and a friendly welcome. The room was spacious, clean, and super cozy—perfect for relaxing. The hotel had cool stuff like a fantastic pool and a yummy restaurant. The staff was always there for me, making my stay even better. I seriously can't rave enough about this place, and I'll totally be back next time I'm around!
