Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites - Waterpark by IHG

I recently stayed at this hotel during a family trip to Orlando, and unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. While there were a few positive aspects, the overall experience left much to be desired. One of the main issues we encountered was the limited access to amenities. We were disappointed to learn that the amenities closed as early as 6 pm and did not reopen until 11 am the next day. This meant that we were unable to utilize the facilities despite paying the resort fee. It felt like we were paying for something we couldn't fully enjoy, which was quite frustrating on top of that $27.00 parking fee. To add to our disappointment, upon entering our room, we discovered socks left behind IN the bedding by the previous guest. While some might find this amusing, it was not a pleasant surprise for us. It made us question the cleanliness and attention to detail of the housekeeping staff. On a slightly lighter note, we did find humor in the situation and jokingly referred to it as a "free socks" discovery. However, this small amusement did not outweigh the overall negative experience and made us question whether the bedding was changed at all. Another issue we encountered was the treatment we received from the front desk staff. Despite booking our stay online, we were made to feel like second-class guests. The term "third party booking" was used, which left us feeling unwelcome and out of place. It was puzzling to us why the hotel would accept third-party bookings if they were so averse to them. Upon our arrival there were many hidden costs that were demanded before checking in. Within those hidden costs were the resort fees, with the water park closing at 6pm. Funny enough, check in is at 4pm, leaving you 2 hours to do what? In comparison to our experience at this hotel, we have found that staying at AirBNB properties provides a more personal touch and better overall service. It seems that smaller accommodations prioritize customer satisfaction and go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. In conclusion, while this hotel has some potential, it fell short in several key areas. Limited amenity access, cleanliness issues, and unwelcoming treatment made our stay less enjoyable. For future trips to Orlando, we will be exploring alternative options that offer a more personalized experience. Definitely we will not recommend this property to anyone.
