Hotel City am Bahnhof

My recent stay at this hotel left much to be desired, and I can only award it one star, primarily due to its proximity to the train station. While the location is undoubtedly convenient for those reliant on transportation links, the rest of my experience was far from pleasant. The most glaring issue throughout my stay was the persistent and unpleasant odors that seemed to pervade the entire hotel. On day one, I was welcomed to my room with an unsettling smell reminiscent of burning spices or incense. This unpleasant odor not only lingered but also raised concerns about the room's cleanliness. The bathroom, in particular, had a strong smoky scent, with the shower curtain being a notable source. Day two brought an entirely different olfactory challenge as I was abruptly woken up by a foul, rotten egg smell emanating from the toilet pipes. This odor seemed to have spread to the corridor, making it virtually inescapable. It was an extremely discomforting experience. In addition to the olfactory assault, the hotel's overall condition was disappointing. Despite the spaciousness of the rooms, they were undeniably dark and outdated, creating a gloomy atmosphere. The facilities were in dire need of an update, and the door keys, which were large bell key rings, were cumbersome and inconvenient to carry. To make matters worse, the room suffered from a severe shortage of electrical sockets. There were only two sockets available, and both were already occupied by lights. This layout was not only inconvenient but also perplexing in today's tech-dependent world, where easy access to outlets is essential, especially near the bed. In conclusion, despite its convenient proximity to the train station, this hotel falls far short of expectations. The relentless odors, outdated facilities, inconvenient key system, and the lack of accessible electrical sockets made it a subpar choice for any traveler seeking comfort and convenience during their stay.
