Great place to stay at. Rooms are clean. Nice toilet. Staff are helpful. The best part is the buffet spreads were better than what I expected. Worthwhile stay. It is also nearby many good spots to shop at for local coffee or salted chicken. Would recommend staying here.

A decent hotel in a good location. Rooms were clean with all the usual amenities. I found the staff to be polite and reasonably efficient; not particularly friendly but in no way rude so that’s fine. The hotel is conveniently located and has parking available for guests (make sure to tell the reception when you arrive to avoid parking penalties). Overall, a decent 3-star hotel in my opinion, and pretty good value. I’d happily stay again if stopping in Ipoh.

The staff Ms Rangitham was selfless and went all the way to help me. On 20/1 at 4.50pm I was struggling to carry some items back to the hotel car park from the open car park behind the hotel. She asked me twice although I refused her assistance at first. She helped me carry my stuff to the hotel car park on Level 2. Such a display of her smile, courtesy & diligence is a rare & exceptional attitude in service experience. Kudos Excelsior for having such a great staff

While I found the room's cleanliness and size to be satisfactory, and the amenities to be in line with the value paid, there was a significant issue that marred my overall experience. The hotel's location in the heart of Ipoh is indeed convenient, which makes the following matter even more disappointing. Regrettably, I feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction with the service, to the extent that I would assign a negative rating if such an option were available. This stems from a disconcerting lapse in basic security measures related to room and key allocation. Upon returning to my room, I was shocked to discover a stranger's personal belongings scattered throughout the room. What exacerbated the situation was the discovery that this individual had unilaterally unplugged my charger to charge his own devices and had used my empty bottle as an ashtray, all within a room designated as non-smoking. It became apparent that the hotel had mistakenly allocated my room to another guest. While the hotel staff did eventually rectify the situation by relocating me to a superior room, I had explicitly communicated to the Operations Manager my expectation of appropriate compensation for the significant inconvenience and breach of security. I firmly believe that a full refund for the entirety of our stay is warranted in this instance. However, to my disappointment, the Operations Manager declined my request and attributed it to the fact that the booking was made through a third-party website, purportedly disallowing refunds. Subsequent to our departure and return to our home country, we conducted an inquiry with the third-party website and learned that no such restriction existed concerning refunds. Despite our earnest attempts to address this matter with the hotel and the Operations Manager, who had kindly provided me with his contact information during my stay, we encountered a frustrating lack of responsiveness. The third-party website confirmed that the hotel had indeed rejected our refund request, though they graciously provided us with a voucher for a future booking, a gesture not mirrored by the hotel's response.
