Hotel Grand Bach Tokyo Ginza

Great location if you are visiting Ginza. Hotel staffs service were all great and the room size was ample. However, we did notice that the room was quite humid due to lack of ventilation in the bathroom. (When we were checking into the hotel, we actually overheard a lady customer complaining about the humidity in her room and ask to switch rooms but at the time, we didn’t know what all the fuss was about). I’m pretty sure the room would be suitable in the fall and winter months as Tokyo gets really dry during those seasons. But during the hot summer months, I wouldn’t recommend staying there unless adequate ventilation or dehumidifier are installed…but overall a good experience at the hotel.

Grand Bach was a huge disappointment for us and we do regret staying there, but fortunately not everything was bad. We stayed for a week. I'll start with good. -Front desk staff was amazing. Super helpful whenever we needed anything. Check in and check out was smooth. And the welcoming felt good. Thank you Tanaka for doing an amazing job. -Hotel room design was amazing. Spacious and well designed. Toliet and shower space was separated and there's a divider for the bedroom space. Bed was soft. -Hotel is able to keep your luggage after check out and before checking in which is an amazing perk. The Bad. - Cleaning staff is either overworked or needs retraining. We had an incident where our toliet was covered with pee stains which did not belong to us. The shower room also smelled of strong sewage to the point that it was usable and we had to have a room change without any compensation to this inconvenience. The new room itself wasn't clean either. Leftover medicine and tissue on the floor with ice cream in the fridge. Cups were not clean either. Everyday amenities would be missing. Either pajamas, coffee refill, facial wash. I had to call front desk for the missing items ever night. That and the toliets werent cleaned either after the room change. The purifier extremely filthy you'll have to clean it yourself first and refill it yourself daily if you wish to use it. -Aircon is sometimes wonky. Sometimes it's not cold at all unsure of why. Issue occurred in both rooms. -Not much of a view maybe this depends on room type. -Front desk does take some time to reply emails in regards to answering questions or enquiries. Sometimes you'll have to email them twice for an answer but they will reply a few days or weeks after that. Do contact them earlier if you have any questions. For 50,000 yen a night I think cleaning should be improved greatly. It was not worth the price at all. And the inconvenience in regards due to the cleaning did cost us to miss dinnee in terms of a dinner reservation as we had to change rooms due to the smell. If all you need is alot of space and you're not too fussed about a clean environment it's okay.
