We really enjoyed our stay at this modern style hotel. It’s right in the Ximending area where the metro station is like 1min walking distance which is super convenient in terms of location. It’s a very popular tourist choice of stay where we heard many Cantonese speaking tourists around the hotel. We really like the chic and modern design of the room and our higher floor room is definitely a very comfortable one with great noise proof feature and very comfy bed and pillow which I love most! The complimentary breakfast that comes with the booking is also quite satisfactory where a wide range of local style breakfast options are presented.

Overall I think this hotel is over-hyped and it's certainly not a hotel I would be staying in on the next trip to Taipei.. 1. During my visit in the cold season, I found the room uncomfortably chilly with no heater available. Despite turning off the air conditioning, it remained too cold for a comfortable night's sleep. 2. Furthermore, the laundry facilities were disappointing. In my previous stays at various hotels in Ximending, even those 3-star hotels, I've never had to pay to use the washing machine and dryer. However, during this stay, some guests found it amusing to tamper with the machines, causing them to stop mid-cycle. This resulted in me having to transfer my wet laundry to another bag and seek out a nearby laundromat to redo my entire laundry. 3. Check-out is scheduled for 11 am, which is earlier compared to the typical 12 pm check-out time at other hotels. This could be attributed to the rapid turnover necessitated by the large influx of tour groups checking in en masse. If you prefer to avoid hotels crowded with tour groups, this may not be the ideal choice for you. Staff were generally great and polite - helpful and patience too. Other than the facts listed above, I'd choose somewhere else to stay for my next visit.

Hotel does not have warmer. Only aircon in a 9 degree temperature. We have to use heat pack instead. Have informed reception and was told their hotel was not equip with warmer. Breakfast was extremely packed. Didn't fully utilised the space they have and squeeze all the food at one corner. Really disappointed with this hotel. It was so cold we have to book another hotel nearby because the cold is unbearable.

Title: Mixed Experience at Midtown Richardson Hotel. During my recent three-night stay at the Midtown Richardson Hotel, I encountered a range of issues that impacted my overall experience. While the hotel boasts an excellent location near Ximending and the subway station, this was overshadowed by several shortcomings.Wi-Fi Connectivity: The hotel's Wi-Fi was non-functional throughout my stay, which was a significant inconvenience.Room Quality: My room had no windows, leading to poor ventilation and a persistent, strange odor. Additionally, I noticed rats around the ventilation vents at night, which was concerning.Service and Amenities: The hotel's policy on late check-out seemed stringent, with a TWD 400 charge per hour. Also, basic amenities like replenishing body lotion were overlooked after the first night. The self check-in and check-out process might not suit everyone's preference.Dining: The breakfast offered was identical each day with no variety, which was disappointing.Despite these issues, the hotel's proximity to key attractions in the city remains a plus. However, due to the reasons mentioned, I am hesitant to consider staying here again in the future.

In our room we found a faeces stain on the toilet when we first checked in. After we called housekeeping, they only sent a cleaner with a wet towel, she has only returned with sanitary products after we had insisted. However, the lobby and dining area for breakfast is really nice and spacious, the front desk staff was also helpful and professional. The location is also great since it is right next to Ximending and a metro station.
