We were lucky enough to kick off our honeymoon at this gorgeous boutique hotel in central Lucerne. We were warmly welcomed and that warmth, kindness and care continued throughout our stay. The rooms have everything you need and the décor pays tribute to the long history of the building. I only marked 4 stars for the room, as it does not have air conditioning which is something coming from Australia, we aren't used to not having. However during our stay we were very comfortable with the fan. The absolute highlight of our stay was meeting the wonderful Cristina in the restaurant. Not only did she ensure the kitchen could cater for my extensive dietary requirements, but she was so kind with her time to ensure we were very well taken care of. I am not sure how she managed to serve all the customers in the restaurant and still ensure we all felt special given on the first evening she was on her own. Having absolutely loved our experience, we decided to rebook for dinner on our second (and final) evening in Lucerne. Cristina was joined by lovely Sabrina and the pair of them ensured all our needs were met. We learnt so much from the both of them. In fact, these two young women were so inspiring - it gives me hope in the future generation! A shout out to the kitchen team too - I wish you could come to Australia - being gluten, dairy and egg intolerant - you absolutely spoilt me with delicious meals. Thank you for such a beautiful stay and all the wonderful memories we now keep.

We stayed one night at Hotel Schlüssel and they surprised us with an upgraded room which was very appreciated. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and the location can't be beat. As with all the other recent reviews - our room was HOT. We had one window that we could open about 1/3 of the way and a fan. The room was large but dimly lit - I understand this is an old building so I know they can only do so much in the way of AC and windows, but it would be nice to add some lighting. Otherwise our stay was great!

Excellent accommodations, most comfortable beds of our 3 week trip! Staff, location, breakfast all superb. We also enjoyed an excellent dinner at the in house restaurant. Thank you!

The location is good, in that it's an easy walk to all the hot spots. The rooms are new and clean with enough space. The 25 franc breakfast was excellent, as it should be for that price! Our complaint was the room temperature. When we were there, it was in the 80s and our room was a sauna, even with the fan they provided. There was no relief. We could only open the window a small amount for safety reasons, and even then, church bells went off every l5 min all night long. We hardly slept the two nights we were there. They should look into a.c. room units if they want their guests to be comfortable. And talk to the church...who needs church bells going off all night?!?!?

Great location and attentive but small staff. The room was just ok and it was very hot so without AC or ceiling fans, it got very warm (although hotels in hundred year old buildings usually don’t have AC so I understand). So while nothing was really wrong, I just felt like the value was not very good (the price was the highest of our 8 night trip in Switzerland but the lowest quality room). Dinner at the restaurant was excellent.
