We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Thissio! We stayed in the family suite. The view from the balcony was amazing of the Acropolis. There was plenty of space for our family of 4. The breakfast included was good. We liked the yogurt with honey. The location is nice because it’s only an 8 minute walk to the Acropolis. There are lots of shops and restaurants near by. The owners are very nice and accommodating. Highly recommend!

We stayed 2 nights in a family room for 4 people. The location is really beautiful, in the center of Athens, with an magnificent view of the Acropolis. Walk out the door and find many bars at the promenade to have some drinks. Most interesting sites are within walking distance. Rooms are air conditioned, beds reasonably comfortable. Room was a bit noisy at times, though. Breakfast tasted really good, but it is menu based instead of a buffet, and the options are limited.

Pro: Great location, walking distance to main attractions and touristic areas. Cons: They don’t have a reception, just a desk behind their restaurant which also happens to be the storage. Breakfast is a joke, not only starts late (8:30), but it is also deplorable. Box juice, burnt coffee and a few thing cold toasts. We had to go out to get breakfast somewhere else. I think no breakfast would be better than what they offer. They know nothing about customer service. Very unfriendly staff. The room with the view is also very noisy due to the busy street, so be ready to compromise sleep for the view. I totally recommend looking for other hotels in the same area.

This was sadly by far the worst part of our recent trip through Greece. The staff do not react to you arriving which means we didn’t know who was working there and how to check in. First night we were kept awake not only by the rooftop bar party but mostly by staff shouting and screaming at each other downstairs for about 45 mins. This wasn’t fun shouting but seriously angry to the point that I was scared and didn’t know whether it be better to leave the premises. This is mainly because even after peeling around the door into the lobby, the staff saw us and then ignored us. Upon complaining the next day, we were told that “it just happens, you know how it is.” Breakfast had incredibly few options, and was served with curdled orange juice from a carton (other tables had fresh juice with garnishing…) and expired butter (more than 2 months). Many other little moments of frustration so overall do yourself a favour and don’t stay there.
