Firstly the good: The staff is wonderful, the location is perfect for access to Reykjavik. The lobby is nice, and the rooms are okay. The bad: The rooms are little deceptive from the pictures. The noise from down town can be annoying. The “bar” isn’t really a bar so much as beer and wine served by a staff member. It’s a bit over blown on the website. The breakfast is very very basic and the same daily. Okay in a pinch. We felt deceived when it came to the “spa” and gym. All of this was closed for our visit with no notification. We even confirmed that our room suit granted access. That would have been a good time to tell us it was all closed. This was a big factor in choosing this hotel, and we felt miss-led. Ultimately we had a wonderful trip and this hotel is nice, it’s just a little overly sold with the photos and information provided.

From the moment I entered until I left, the staff and services were top notch. Mohammad, the front desk clerk, was fabulous at check in. Made me feel very welcome and was quite knowledgeable of the area. Breakfast buffet is dynamite. Dagmar, the breakfast server, is over the top friendly, professional, accommodating, and a VERY hard worker. She does an incredible job running the entire dining room. Spa which includes a hot tub and spa was very relaxing. Would highly recommend this centrally located hotel in Reykjavik.

Best location in Reykjavik! Right at the heart of the city. Close to bus stops if you’re not driving. So convenient. All other places are so accessible. Room is clean and spacious. Breakfast is good too. Good selection of food. Staff are all nice and friendly.

This hotel was recommended by the Reykjavik Marathon site so I booked it hoping it would be in a strategic location for race day. We were pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be an amazing spot. I would highly recommend and stay here again. It was easy to catch a taxi to the sports center to pick up the race packet and the starting/finish line were very walkable and close to the hotel. Outside of race day, the location was perfect for walking to many shops, bars, restaurants, and the Culture House (popular pick up spot for tours). We didn't spend much time in our room (#304) so while it was on the smaller side, it worked for our needs. I never travel without earplugs and an eye mask so I didn't have any problems with noise or sleeping (even on Culture Night with an open window!) My husband is hot natured so he was very happy to find the small fan in the room that we could prop next to an open window for cool, fresh air. Breakfast was tasty and fresh every day (my favorite was the cold cuts with cheese and some kind of granola bar pastry loaded with yogurt). Thankfully on race day, after clearing up some confusion they let me grab a banana to go. The bartender was a very kind gentleman who we enjoyed ordering nightly drinks from as well. Overall, very happy with our stay!
