It is a fantastic hotel with great staff. The room was spacious and clean. A little bistro set on the balcony would have been great. Shame about the building site view but no noise interruption, so all good. Popped out on the balcony with my glass of wine and was fortunate enough to see the aurora 😀

The Grandi hotel is very comfortable, clean and walking distance to all major attractions in the area. We had a double bed and a single child bed, and plenty of space to move around. Breakfast selection is excellent and always available when you come. The hotel is located right next to the old harbour, we didn't have to walk far to any of the places we wanted to get to. The staff are friendly and helpful. We have a great experience and would highly recommend anyone looking for a good hotel in the Reykjavik city

This is a lovely hotel. Very clean and a great location. The staff on reception were absolutely fantastic and gave excellent advice and suggestions for days out and places to eat. Restaurant staff were brilliant too. A couple of negatives on the rooms:- the glass bathroom door with no lock (that doesn't even fit the length of the door) was awful and needs replacing. The curtains were not great either, there were no blinds and if you opened the curtains then you had zero privacy from the flats opposite. Another negative was there was not enough parking. Probably no more than eight parking bays, so a five minute walk to free parking if you hire a car and don't want to pay parking. Five minutes to park is not very far, but it's far enough when walking in the dark and ice. Overall though, an excellent hotel and cannot praise the staff enough as they were fabulous *****

I only stayed the one night here on my way up to the north. The staff were polite and helpful when we needed information and to book a taxi. The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Good location for seeing the city with a lot of interesting areas in a short walking distance. Breakfast was plentiful and they use fresh ingredients. The only downside for me was the sausages that were very pale when cooked but that's a personal things. They were still thoroughly cooked inside. Nice place and I would visit again.
