If you're travelling for special occasion like birthday don't expect any of the staff to acknowledge that. Just like the previous review mentioned reception staff just ignored it. Disappointing. Hotel seems to be focused on conferences and business guests. Spa is absolutely not up to standard - needs to be renovated urgently. Breakfast - not the best at other intercontinental hotels we have seen way better. Its too simple for 5* hotel. On the positive side - rooms are beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The building itself is very nice. Overall, great if you're travelling for work but if you want to relax and enjoy the hotel I think there are better 5* options available in Bucharest.

The staff members were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom had an issue and they put me in a room were there was construction sounds even though they upgraded it to a suite with a living room. The bathroom didn’t have a ventilation fan :( The location is PERFECT 😍 Laundry: I didn’t like how they almost charge $40 for washing and ironing a shirt. I got the shirt for $20 :/ Overall, I would not go there again.

Best hotel in town. Great new rooms, great breakfast. Mr Catalin from the lounge is the reason that I'm keep coming again and again, so great service and so nice guy. I also want to mention Daniel from the concierge for his great service.

First and foremost, diamond member here, we decided to stay at Intercontinental Athénée Palace Bucharest for Christmas. As soon as we enter the lounge, we were welcomed by Catalin, an extremely joyous and friendly club lounge manager. He surprised us with a very special and delicious sushi dinner which was neatly prepared by sous-chef Roxana. Thank you so much for the most memorable dining experience in Bucharest.

Booked for Birthday occasion. Was not a good experience. Room was perfect and modern, not the service. 1. As Diamond member, no benefit including breakfast was mentioned when check in. 2. As ambassador, no benefit including hotel credit or drink voucher any was mentioned when check in. 3. Found online myself that I should have these benefits, went to lobby and realised I selected points for welcoming amenity which I didn’t for sure. 4. Lounge access should be included but no one mentioned and could not access to lounge; until i went to the lounge again. It was for birthday and unlike my another stay in a 5* hotel in Bucharest, it was hectic and not suitable with special occasion. I would not recommend and suggest to book other option in Bucharest.
