A beautiful haven within the old city. Like what others described, it is like a secret garden within. Beautifully maintained by their gardeners. I love the hammocks near the pool and the lounge as well. The staff are always all smiles- all in all a very cozy place to stay at.

Charming, authentic and Thai style hotel within walking distance to both Chiang Mai gate and Tha Phae Gate. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. The sound of running water from a fountain and birds are the main sources of background noise. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and the Thai dishes changed daily. There is an egg station. There is a massage place opposite, a British style bar nearby and a few coffee shops just next to the hotel. The location is excellent overall.

Imagine a tropical paradise where the air conditioning struggles to keep up with your enthusiasm, like a geriatric sloth trying to win a marathon. But fear not, intrepid traveller! For our entertainment, the staff have perfected the art of the grumpy growl, led by the legendary Kuhn (which he calls himself. Kuhn means Mister in Thai): a master of real name-withholding and air-conditioning-related fibs. He'll have you believing that a lukewarm room is the peak of Chiang Mai luxury. But wait, there's more! The esteemed manager, bless his oblivious heart, will proudly relocate you to a larger room with an air conditioner that, after 90 minutes of valiant effort, might manage to lower the temperature by a measly 4 degrees. Who needs a refreshing breeze when you have the thrill of the hunt for a comfortable room? And let's not forget the breakfast! A culinary masterpiece that will tantalise your taste buds... with its utter lack of taste. It's like a culinary black hole, sucking away all flavour and leaving you with a sense of existential wonder: "Is this it? Is this all there is to breakfast?" But hey, who needs comfort, good food, and a decent air conditioner when you have a story to tell? So come, brave traveller, and experience the magic of Hotel Hilarious!
